Floating Downstream

I was just watching an Abraham/ Hicks DVD and Abraham was talking about how we have already asked, by knowing what we don't want and knowing what we do want) and it is already given, and we just have to "turn our boat downstream" and allow things to come to us. We don't have to try, the act of trying is an Upstream action.. anyway I was lying down watching this DVD and took a couple of deep breaths and found myself in a lovely place of allowing. I felt good and grateful about where I was at, and happy to know that all my manifestations are already in existence..
Then my phone rang and it was the guy I really like! We spoke for over an hour and we are going to catch up tomorrow to play music (we are both musicians).
How cool! I'm looking forward to tomorrow. I don't know what to expect and it doesn't matter because I know we will have a great time hanging out, no matter what happens.

Yes, exactly, Mark'BsWife. I think this relates to the thread on lazy manifesting.
But I feel I've put in so much effort for soooo long, there is no confusion in the Universe as to what I want. That's for sure! Haha. I've written lists (many of them), made a vision board and a vision book and creation box, I've visualised, fantantasied, said affermations... oh the works.
I think all those tools are great!! But for someone like me, I still couldn't detach, I kept seeing myself as alone and noticing the empiness of that.
So for me this seems to work, not to think about what I want- just to feel better and better about where I am and trust that the river will take me into my desires.
And I'm going to enjoy the journey.

 I love this analogy!! I for one have been trying too hard even though i keep thinking i'm detatched and i do have good moments.

Yes, that's it Animor. I just love the feeling I get when I watch these videos, and the couple of dvds I now own help me get to that place of relief and stop struggling. it's funny, because I don't even realise I am struggling and tense until I watch them and make and effort to feel better and then the sence of relief I feel is amazing, now I know why I haven't been manifesting my desires!! (Until now!) 

So now I know, when ever I feel like I am trying to control things, I am not allowing.
When I feel sad, tense, lonely, frustrated etc I am not allowing.
When I take a breath, release control of the situation, find a better feeling thought and find relief, I am allowing.
Our emotions are our guide.
I really love this stuff!!

Well we had a pretty cool time, making music and stuff, then hanging out talking 'til about 2 in the morning. But I have to admit, I was feeling kind of tense. I kept trying to give it up but found it difficult.

The back story is that when we met, it was pretty full on, he had seen me around for a while before we met at a party and I hadn't noticed him before that. He told me that I was intimidatingly sexy and beautiful, and asked me to spend the whole next day with him and I did, he was so cute... we had a very romantic day kissing and cuddling and at the end of the day we promised to see each other again soon.

Since then even though he txts me and calls me and we'll talk for hours on the phone, we get together and play music etc.. he has never made another pass at me. I know there is a big age difference which might be stopping him (I wont say what it is because it will seem obscene to most people, but I'm much older than him.. but he was the one who started the whole thing, but I don't think he knew my age then, because I don't look it) I'm not sure if that's the problem or something else, but if he's not interested why does he keep contacting and wanting to hang out with me? Or is it just me and my energy stopping it?
Oh well, all I can do is continue to let it go and know that my man (whoever he is) is on his way.. ie turn my boat around and float back downstream!!   

Though any insight on this situation would be appreciated.

Ahh I love Abraham hicks, One thing that always gets me into the vortex is to say positive words to myself like
Blissful, peaceful joyous,saying them changes my energy to a higher happier feeling which enables me to get downstream quicker. xx

What a great idea. The words hold those lovely vibrations. It is as simple as that isn't it. Just to let go of tension, reach for a better feeling thought.. like saying those lovely words- peace.. bliss... joy... and allowing yourself to relax into that feeling. Like Abraham says, we all have to chill out and relax and things will be so much easier!!
