New to this forum..hello to everyone

 Hi to everyone...just watched The Secret, read Bob Proctor, listening to Jim Rohn and with my wife really trying to change our thought processes from neg to positive.

Really truly intrigued by the princples of LOA.

Have read many negative comments on the web regarding LOA stating why those in poverty and starvation cannot affect their circumstances no matter how positive their thoughts. Can anyone clear this one up for me?

Regardless of the answers that come our way LOA makes us feel quite good about stuff and looking forward to learning more.

As for your question...it's kind of hard to know since well, it really depends on the person. I remember watching a movie about the true story of a girl who was raised by parents who were drug addicts and then later on was abandoned by them while she was still very young. She spent her teenage years living on the streets with other friends she made that were also homeless. She managed to change her situation and become rather well of financially, by working hard and attracting some awesome situations for herself such as a scholarship into a really good school. So she went from nothing to a successful job as a motivational speaker, plus was accepted into an ivy league college, despite not attending most of grade school. 

Dani Johnson is another person who lost everything and was homeless for awhile who managed to turn her life around to where she has a million dollar business, same thing with Joe Vitale. So it is possible to change things, but I think there has to be a willingness to break free from what's comfortable/safe and do things differently.

Thank you for your reply. I agree with you that there are circumstances in which individuals break away from their terrible environment and beat all the odds. I really admire those people, but my question is really about those countries that suffer every day inpoverty..Cambodia, Ethiopia, etc.

I guess unless they are sufficiently advised in the Laws of 'Attraction' how are they ever going to escape their current lives. I know there will be fantastic stories of people who have escaped their poverty in these countries.

Do you think this is ay different in western countries?

Hm...this is something I really don't quite have an answer for. I think you might get more replies and views on this if you start a new thread in maybe the "Lounge" part of the forum as the "Say Hello" part doesn't show up in recent posts sidebar.

But I do believe that people who live in impoverished countries, can change their situation if they want to, though it may be more challenging. I think what makes it difficult though is that when you grow up in poverty and are surrounded by poverty, it's hard to imagine a better life. Not only that, there tends to be a "crab mentality" that occurs when someone tries to improve things as people either are afraid of change or don't want to see people succeed.
