I understand how you feel wanting to take a break from "thinking about him". It is tough. I want to do the same thing. I have days where I do pretty well and then I reminded constantly of him. However, these things that remind us of "them" are signs. What you experienced is not just a manifestation but a sign.
I truly believe and know that when the time is right we will have what we desire.

This is how it is supposed to be done. Unfortunately b/c we know how it is supposed to be done we focus too much on it and it takes longer to detach/let go (forget about) than it should. However, everything happens for a reason and timing is everything. Keep doing what you are doing. ive manifested dozens of things by desiring it and forgetting about it unknowingly...nope visualisations and affirmations are not at all required..ive manifested a particular cell phone which my sister gave it to me as a gift...just desired the cell phone unknowingily...and wallaah..in.two weeks i get it as a gift...and i.had cmpletely forgotten about it...and ive manifested many more things like that..

For some reason I recall reading something about seeing signs (literally getting inundated) and then they stop....When they stop, it is when you desired manifestations is coming to fruition.
Any thoughts on this?
