Here is a small and simple test you can do to prove the Law of Attraction works.
Pick a number. Any two or three digit number that you like. Mine has always been 22.
Tell the universe that you would like to attract this number. Focus on it for a few minutes and say that you see it everywhere to yourself.
Now each time you see it, acknowledge that you attracted it. Say thanks for it, and remember it. It will quickly begin appearing in strange ways everday. I promise!

I think this happens to all of us at first, it certainly did to me. You have to realize that you have years of thinking a certain way working against you in a way. You are now retraining yourself to think a new way and sometimes old patterns of thought and old beliefs creep up on you. Its ok. Just know that a belief is only a thought you keep thinking. Once you keep thinking a new thought it will get easier and easier. Best thing to do in my opinion is to keep positive information like your book 'the Secret' in front of you as much as possible. Read it everday. Read lots of books like it. Get motivating cd's to listen to in the car, watch motivating videos online or on DVD. Pretty soon it will be hard to think anthing else and then your life will become truly dreamlike! On another note, you say you are reading 'the Secret', its a great book, but have you seen the movie? Visually it is a great tool. I watch it all the time, even years after being into the Law of Attraction it is very helpful. You can get it online, and in many new age stores. Hello purple dove. I felt the same way when I first found out about the Secret and Law of Attraction. Since then it has truly become my life and I can see evidence of it everywhere. Even in the lives of others around me that do not believe as I do, I can still see it working for them. haha.

Nothing is out of your control, but most people have no idea that they have control to begin with. They are living their lives by default.
Living by default means they are not giving attention to what they want, but instead just noticing what is going on around them. Thus they fall victum to what others are focusing on and creating. And most other people are also just living by default so the cycle goes on and on.
The worse it gets the worse it gets in this case. If someone believes they have no power and are victums to what goes on around them then they will be in that wrong place at a wrong time.
Many though have more positive outcomes. They get a feeling not to go to work on a day something bad happens, or they just miss a car accident. These would be positive examples of someone creating their lives.

I agree, we all create the world around us. We are taught as kids and continue to be taught that things are not fair and that there are so many things wrong with the world. But its only because we believe such things that such things are true.
One person, in alignment with their own desire and with themselves is more powerful than millions who are not.
All the people in the world complaining about how things are not fair are all pushing against what they do not want. They are not in alignment with their own desire.
You can focus on the world being the way you want it to be and watch as it becomes exactly that way!

Hello David V.
My advice is to realize that even though you may be in a situation you don't like and can't see a way out of you are still in control of your vibration (or signal) to the universe.
The people around you are all creating their own reality and you are creating yours. By focusing on the other people though, you unwillingly give up your power and take on their vibrations. So you begin to attract the same things they are.
Imagine it like this... If the people around you were all listening to music on a cd player at a volume level of 5, but you had a cd player that was turned up to a volume of 10. Your higher volume would overpower their lower volume. All you would hear would be your own music.
A positive thought is many times more powerful than a negative one. If you, and you alone would begin to focus on abundance and to believe that you could attract it no matter what anyone around you was doing, your vibrations would raise to a level that would over power all others.
You can attract abundance into your life and be the example that the people around you need to believe for themselves. Imagine how great it would feel to attract money around every corner. It would amaze those around you. It would cause them to rethink their beliefs. They would all come to you wanting to know your secret.
My girlfriend and I are in similar situations. Our families can be very negative. Try to find time to yourself to meditate and focus on what you want. Once you get it, they will be amazed!

I found a story online about a student wanting to attract a specific grade on a test. At first they kept asking for and focusing on getting 76.
But a few days before the test they decided to go higher and asked to recieve a grade of 96. Well the test day came and went and they actually ended up getting an 86. (exactly in between the two numbers they had asked for)
I think focusing on how it would feel to recieve the grade you want, and realizing that you deserve to get that grade is all you need to do. The law of attraction will provide you the time and ability to learn and absorb the information you need.
The fact that your test was rescheduled may just be the universe giving you more time to study up to recieve the grade you asked for. It doesnt mean that anything actually went wrong. If you felt good up until that point about it, then just trust that everything is going as planned, even if you dont know the whole plan. haha

The stone is a powerful tool for you to use. Its a constant reminder to you of how powerful YOU actually are. Some people use vision boards, affirmations, prayer, etc etc. Whatever works best for you is what you should keep using. Just realize that YOU are the one creating your reality and if you happen to forget your stone one day, that power is still within you. Maybe get a couple though, and leave one at home, one at work, one in the car etc.

I get setbacks like that alot, here is the good part though. As you feel discouraged, you are sending out at that moment an even stronger request for what you want. Strong emtions speed up your manifestations.
So as you feel discouraged a strong request is going out to the universe, which means the answers are coming back to you in a sped up fashion as well. Once you get back on track and feeling better you are now set to recieve what you desired.
Its all part of the contrast, don't feel bad about anything.

Something that works great for me, (and doesn't take up to much time) is to write out what you want, but do it from the perspective of already having it.
For example, write out a letter or diary page saying how happy you NOW are that you have found your soulmate. Write out all the things you do together and all the great things about this other person. Write out how you feel being in such a good relationship.
At first you will just be pretending. But writing it as if it already was your reality gets you into the feeling of having it now. And when that happens the Universe has to manifest it for you. It won't take long, and if you don't have time to write one day, just read something you wrote on a different day.
This can be applied to anything you want, that you don't yet have. Its a great way to feel the feelings that go along with it and thats what sets the Universe in motion.

Many have misunderstood the way The Law of Attraction is meant to be used. It truly doesn't matter what kind of a life you have lived, if you have done good things or bad things, The Law of Attraction is responding to your vibrations now.
Now many will keep themselves from getting want they want in life because they themselves believe they are unworthy. The idea that you have to work hard to get ahead, or that you must have a good education to be worthy of the things you want in life is a false premise. All you have to do is match the feeling place of what you want and The Law of Attraction will and must deliver.
When you are thinking of having a better relationship, or a new job, more money, or better health you are always transmitting a vibration. Now as long as you focus on what you want from the place of how good it will feel to have it, instead of, how bad it feels now not having it, you are sending out a signal to all of the Universe that says "I am a vibrational match to what I want" and The Law of Attraction goes to work.
Most people however do the exact opposite. They focus instead on how they don't have a good relationship, on how much they hate their current job, don't have enough money, and how they are always feeling bad and that vibration is going out and being answered by Law of Attraction instead.
You see, Law of Attraction is impersonal, it does not care about anything other than your vibrations now. It is a manager of vibration and must match you with people, places, and events that match what you are emitting.
When you want something and are looking forward to having it from a place of excitement, Law of Attraction goes to work. When you want something and don't believe you can have it and are looking at it in doubt and fear and from a place of discouragement, Law of Attraction goes to work.
Whether you really want it or you really don't want it, all Law of Attraction sees is that your attention is on a subject and you are very excited about it and it goes to work to bring it to you.
Pay attention to how you feel and you can steer yourself in the direction of what you want more of the time.

I was fortunate enough to see Abraham in Denver a couple years back and it was truly amazing. It was a few months before the release of their next book, which at the time was 'Money and the Law of Attraction.' They talked about it at the seminar, and showed the audience a copy, but said it wouldn't be for sale for a couple more months.
I was soooo excited about this news. I had every book, dvd, cd etc I could find from Abraham and now hearing about a "Money" book was the best news I had recieved all day.
The day after the event I went online and found out the release date of this new book. I marked my calendar! I checked to see if I could pre order it at the local stores, I couldn't wait for it to come out.!
About 3 weeks before its release my girlfriend suggests randomly to stop by our local metaphysical store to have a look around. We hadn't been in a while. As I walk in the door I notice on the shelf in front of me is 'Money and the Law of Attraction' by Esther and Jerry Hicks!!
I ran over and grabbed it to see if it were real or like some kind of advertisement. It was the real book. Almost a month before its release. I thought maybe it was just for looks, and not actually for sale. I took it to the counter, thinking maybe they would let me order one for myself.
The cashier asks if I was ready to purchase the book. YES I AM! haha.
To sum things up, I recieved the book I wanted so badly 3 weeks before it was to be released. I had read the entire thing by the next day.
When I told some of my friends about what happened, they went down to the same store and asked to buy the book. The store manager told them it would not be out for 3 weeks.
I don't know how it made it to the store so early and onto the shelf for me to purchase, I really don't care. The Universe delivered exactly what I desired. Excitement is the key to manifesting anything you desire!

This is a true story that happened not to long ago that amazed me when it happened.
My mother is an artist that uses colored pencils to do family portraits of people. She only uses a certain kind of pencils called 'PrismaColor' colored pencils. She buys them at her local art supply store which is in Virginia where she lives. I live in Colorado.
Not long ago she was in the middle of a very important portrait for someone and about half way through it realized she was running out of a particular shade of red. She went to her art supply store to purchase another pencil that matched her shade of red but they were sold out. They told her they couldn't special order it either, she would just have to wait. She tried not to worry to much about it, and just affirmed what she needed would be there for her..
Now at the same time halfway across the country me and my girlfriend here in Colorado were doing some spring cleaning. We had no idea of my mothers colored pencil situation.
As we were cleaning through an old closet we came across a bag of art supplies. (my girlfriend likes to paint and has many art supplies of her own.)
She wasnt sure what was in the bag, she said someone had given it to her as a gift a couple years earlier and never used it. Insde was several boxes of colored pencils. Since we didnt need them we decided to mail them to my mother in case she might be able to put them to use.
A few days later my mom calls me all excited to tell me that she had gotten our package in the mail. Come to find out that very day she used up the last of ther special shade of red and had to stop work on the portrait. That afternoon my package arrived and inside were 3 boxes of 'prismaColor' colored pencls.
The amazing part.....all three boxes were the same. And they were all that hard to find shade of red that she needed and couldn't find at the art supply store! She not only got an abundance of what she needed, but got it on the very day she needed them. And we knew nothing about it when we mailed it to her!
My girlfriend was given those pencils years before my mother needed them, but the universe had it all worked out perfectly and delivered an instant manifestation. Imagine how many things may already be in motion for you!
