I've been negative all my life, its my natural way of thinking I guess, I don't even have to think it comes natural to me so trying to change my thoughts to postive and focus on positive is really draining, its like trying to learn another language almost, anyone else get this? I find during the day I always slip back to old ways, its a constant battle.


Exactly. It's like learning to climb the rope and learning to swim. It's hard at the beginning and then things will get easier and easier.
At some point suddenly you see how much progress you made.
Here's fun part: you may even try change your emotions directly to positive ones without scrambling for positive thoughts :)

Positive thought is very "relative". When you're getting out of state of helpless depression into the state of anger - this is actually "positive" move, although most others would tell you - this is not.
If you'd learn to jump into your emotions directly and then conjure supporting thoughts - this may work faster for you.

People read about LOA, get excited and then go and start visualizing money till their eyes pop.
In a few weeks excitement dries up and they're back to square one asking "where is my money"?

But have you notice that the world's best inventions and most amazing discoveries did happen without all that?
Then what gives?
Do I need to visualize or what?

Visualization is the last and not that essential part of LOA. Visualization will help you to attract small things and stuff you don't really need after all.
ALLOWING IS.
Being in the state of allowing - is what makes the most amazing things happen to you and for you.
So what is this mysterious "state of allowing" that Abraham talks so much about?

State of allowing is the state of present positive emotion, joy, appreciation, love.
If you want to try to attract small, predefined things - visualize.
If you want to have *the most amazing* things happen to you - then focus all your dedication to enter and be in the state of allowing as much as possible.
Here's my practical experience on how to convert emotions to money. There is absolutely no way i could make these money by "trying to work on it".
Focus on working on your emotions, focus of lifting yourself up, regardless of anything around. Who cares?
When you are in the heightened emotional state - universe start flowing to you the stuff you couldn't even dream about visualizing.
It does not matter what you feel good about - what matters above all - is that you feel good. Regardless of anything else.
I experienced that so many times - it's just amazing!

Gratitude and appreciation are the magnets to attract anything we want.
To be in constant attitude of gratitude - is the way to be in the state of allowing - allowing anything we want to come in easily.

I think "letting go" by itself is challenging indeed. It's like dropping smoking, or stop eating without looking for real causes.
Harmoneous "letting go" is shifting attention to something else that is positive, fun and joyful.
So if you'd start dating another person that "old love" and all related to her/him is less relevant and less occupying.

So practical letting go practice is a practice of shifting attention to something else.
And then .... ! :)

Wow, really wise advice!
Ho'oponopono is perfect especially for highly negative states - as it is very gentle practice that does not require neither much focusing nor effort.
Gratitude and appreciation are very powerful and suitable for almost any state. I found it fun to appreciate "nonsense" like mundane roadsigns, streetlights or passing cars and then shifting to higher level practice by appreciating living beings (animals and people) and anything related.
Once you got out of severed depressive stage - start appreciating yourself, especially looking at yourself in the mirror and saying Ho'oponopono cleaning phrases.
