Same thing happened to me but on a slightly larger scale. I needed a new computer because my old one was terrible and extremely slow. Some of you may be aware that windows has a rating on how good the computer is when you right click on "my computer" and mine was a 4.3 which is pretty bad for recording music, which is what I do mainly with mine. The highest possible rating is 7.9 for now.

Even though I don't have any money I never let that stop me from placing my order with the universe. I went online and was looking at some of the really high end computers and was blown away at the price. Some of the really good ones can cost four of five times what they would at a best buy or walmart for example. I never allow myself to think "I've got no money for something like that.

So Christmas comes and my wife's brother and law brings me this computer and says it don't work and it's mine to use as parts. So I fixed it in like 30 minutes and asked him if he wanted it back since it's works fine. He said I could have it anyway because he ordered a replacement.

So I test out the computer and it's a 7.9 in some categories and the lowest is 7.3. It's almost exactly what I was looking at online. quad core processor, 8 gigs ram, dual video cards, etc... I'm always blown away by LOA. It has never failed me. It don't always happen exactly as you visualize it but it always does if a person is persistent enough.
I quit for 8 years and just did because I was fed up with doing it - I restarted again because I fancied it and rightly or wrongly - I enjoy it. So I have two suggestions - 1* just do it - don't make a big thing of it - don't put pressure on yourself to stop forever, just stop - and don't think about it - don't discuss it - don't go round telling everyone, just do it and find something else to do with the time you would spend smoking. Don't give it your attention.

2) the second way is my interpretation of silva method for habit control - that suggests that in order for breaking a habit there has to be some pay off - something that makes not smoking better than smoking - so for you it maybe your marathon and training and achieving that in a good time way better than smoking . Or money - the money you save spend on new trainers / running gear etc - so that gives you a constant motivation. They then suggest, moving in the direction of stopping for a while before actually doing it - ie making your first cig later, if you have one with a coffee - don't - have it a seperate time so you are breaking associations. Also visualising, visualising yourself doing things as a non smoker (not running - things where you would normally smoke - say after a meal)

Good luck.

Perfect advice. The less of a big deal you make of it the easier it is.

And if it does become a big deal as in one of those cravings we tend to freak out over then try this.

When I quit for three months I told myself that I could smoke any time I wanted providing I gave a good reason for doing so. That was all I had to do to get me over hundreds of withdrawals, perhaps thousands.

I would be "I need a smoke."
then a little voice would ask ."Very well. What's your good reason for lighting one up?"
"Yes. I want to end the aggravation I'm feeling."
"But that's not a good reason. The smoking of cigarettes caused the aggravation you are now feeling. If your desire is to end the aggravation then you will end it once and for all by continuing just as you are. The feeling will subside in a few seconds. Won't it be nice to never ever have another withdrawal?"

And knowing that all the side effects are caused by cigarettes and not relieved by them helped me a lot. I'm getting ready to quit again myself. I'll use the same techniques. It's just your body craving nicotine and nothing else. About three days and almost all of it is out of your system.

But should you need further assistance then try Alan Carr's Easy Way book. He was a very heavy smoker and quit with his method effortlessly with no terrible withdrawals. Just look up his book on amazon.com and read the reviews and decide for yourself. it worked for me just as easily but this time I need to focus on the staying smoke free section a lot more. lol. No skimming in short.

Good luck to you.

I don't really understand how it can be criticized in the first place. It's a perfect law in every aspect. Here is just a few things that proves it.

1. Every book ever written is the Law of Attraction. An idea attracts an idea which in turn attracts more ideas, which leads to a greater understanding. If not for the Law of Attraction, every book would contain one sentence.
2. The people who are skeptical of LOA would never be able to produce this skepticism in the first place were it not for one skeptical idea followed by more skeptical concepts that are in line with their dominant thoughts. Otherwise they would not have been able to get beyond "The Law of Attraction doesn't exist." lol.
3. If the Law of Attraction didn't work then nothing would ever get done and nothing would ever get finished. No one would grow as people and we would stay just as we were when we were born.....scratch that....no one would be born because our mothers and fathers would not have thought about each other in such ways as to produce the required feelings needed for conception in the first place.
4. The people who built this website used the law of attraction. The internet and the computer used to view it is LOA.
5. We start at a certain age and through no conscious decision of our own we continue to grow bigger and older. Yet we are capable of shaping our bodies through working out, lifting weights, and in my case eating fried foods. lol. But without LOA we would be carbon copies of one another

It's not some sort of magic concept that can be explained away but instead, it's exactly what it says it is. It's a Law that governs the universe and a way of explaining how life and it's many facets work. Good feelings attract good feelings and a desire creates possibilities for that desire to manifest
As far as the universe and how it lines everything up? I got no idea and neither do these skeptics. We are only using a small percentage of our brains and we are hopelessly unable to explain even a fraction of it.

So be very weary of listening to people or giving credence to those that offer things out of line with where you want to be in life. Because "Everything is true" be it good or bad. And I dare anyone to prove otherwise.  :)

I work in healthcare. It's the most stressful environment I've personally ever been exposed to. Nearly all of my coworkers do nothing all day but curse, gripe and back stab each other. I find in order to avoid being dragged down into other peoples negativity I use NLP. NLP works, at least for me in my work environment, much better than the law of attraction. Law of Attraction is supposed to help you avoid people who are out of line with your harmony but in my case, EVERYONE is out of line with my harmony. lol.

I know this is silly but it works every time.
Technique #1
As soon as I hear someone say. "Oh God I hate this place. They never give us enough help to do the job. They don't care if we drop dead in the middle of the hall.....etc... I do this:
I imagine that there is an invisible force field going up around me. It's so powerful that I can hear it crackle and hum. It has a slight yellow glow that only I can see. This force field blocks out all negativity. I can hear the negativity and understand what they are saying but the force field prevents me from being affected by it. It allows me to keep my harmony. Now as far as remembering to do things when you need to do them, I also imagine that this force field losses it's strength after about an hour. I actually set my watch to beep at the top of every hour and re apply the force field.
Technique #2
If someone says something personal to hurt me and I can't do anything about it, such as a terrible boss or something, I do this:
My boss said something just terrible to me one time. I'm not a violent man but he made me so angry that I wanted to rip his head off. It affected me for weeks. Even my sleep was affected. But I have children to feed so quitting was not an option.
The NLP technique goes like this:
1. Relive the experience as if it were a movie playing out in your head. Wear what you were wearing and put yourself in the exact same setting. Stop the movie a few seconds after the incident that gave you the negative emotion. Notice that the anger is still there just as strongly as it was when it first happened.
2. Now rewind the movie and play it again, only this time put in some background music that doesn't match the negative emotion. I used something goofy and upbeat, like the theme to Benny Hill show.

3. Then once you have done this, you can look back and discover that the negative emotion is completely gone.

After doing this, I was completely over what my boss had said to me. On a scale from one to ten, my rage went from a 12 to a 0 just like that. It worked so well that I went back in my past and applied that to things that had happened to me as far back as grade school.

I also wish I could have something like that but my daughter loves notebooks more than I do and she likes to color on every page. Instead I use a free software called iDailyDiary, which is password protected. There is a page for every day of the month at the bottom of the software lined up like a calendar, so I can easily navigate back and fourth. I highlight the things that I think I might need for future journal entries. And the really cool thing is that I can go out on the net and find a picture to insert into that days entry which really helps when you are trying to feel the feelings of already having the things you wish for in your life. So my vision board is one day at a time instead of a collage of different pictures hastily arranged on a poster board or something. I back the whole thing up to a flash drive in case I want to switch to the laptop or something. Really handy.
Yup, that's exactly the way LOA works. A year or so ago I had my wife make a list of all the things she wanted. It was a long list, about thirty items. We were cleaning out a bookshelf last week and found the list. Of course she had forgotten having made the list in the first place. She had me read it off to her item by item. She was giggling over some of those items but she stopped and got serious when we discovered that every last item had manifested. Makes me wish she had sent out bigger desires such as an extra bedroom, or in your case with a new car.
If people will just look around them they will see hundreds of prime examples that back up the law of attraction.
