Peace, I believe you can have that balance.  Affirm to yourself that you are grateful that you are aligned with all that you want in your life.  When your studying see it as an opportunity to let go of your desire (letting go of attachment) as that is a crucial part to the process and just focus on the 'now' being what you want to achieve that very moment.  I was in a similar situation and am no longer attached to the outcome I always began reciting some words I got from this site and the results are simply amazing:

"I am fully and passionately in love with ME, first and foremost! Thank you that I am already complete and whole, in and of myself. I am so full of self-love because I have cared for myself and my own needs to such a degree that I can now send unconditional love to. .......

Even though I may not consciously know how, I thank you for transforming me into a person that ........ would happily choose to feel intense attraction to. Thank you for helping me become what I desire most: the best person ....... and people like her could choose to be with.

By constanly focusing on the girl you are sending the universe signs that you are waiting, not that you have her.  So in turn you will continue to attract situations in your life that are aligning you with what you are receiving.  Just know that you will have this love in your life as long as you put yourself on the pedestal.  All the best!! Hey, thanks for that, I actually read that post last night.  I agree with all that was mentioned, but I saw him tonight and he keeps sating that I have to let it sink in, it will never work and it's best that he goes with what his parents want as he doesn't wanna lose that family circle.  He says he wishes he could be with me..  Is there anything I can do, do you think?  It has been six years, but now I feel as though I am going around in circles with him.  He has been really negative lately and I absolutely hate it when he says "Your beautiful and smart, doing good things in your life, but why haven't you given up on me, your too good to be with me"...grrr, that makes me upset..

I want him back, but his family are trying to set him up with a girl of his culture and we love each other so much and he has filled himself with doubt as is convincing himself it is the right thing
