On one level I agree with this, and think it's a great little summary. And then on another.... A lot of spiritual traditions (for which I am gaining increasing respect) say that happiness is not attained by trying to change things, but by accepting things are perfect exactly as they are. We're always chasing after this or that, thinking we'll find happiness at the end of the rainbow - but the real secret is to find peace from within.

I read brilliant quote today, by Karl Renz. It was something like, "the idea that you can avoid suffering by acting one way rather than another creates a lot of suffering". That just rang so true for me, and was very soothing.

However, there's a big long journey between a seemingly bland meaningless statement such as I have just spat out, and the realisation of it. I'm still working at it (egads!) but the truth of it seems undeniable. As long as you are seeking, you are not enjoying what is. Life is both the journey and the destination (and all those other spiritual platitudes )

well said Ginny.Yes we can go around the world searching for happiness. But we won't be able to find true happiness from the out side. True happiness should come from the inside and spread to outer world. When we have realized this truth we feel so happy and peaceful from inside.

@Ginny - i got this opportunity suddenly. so i used to think this one is given by the universe. actually i wanted to go to Greek Cypriot side. everything seems to be ok , but suddenly i missed the chance and again i got this chance. This kinda things have happened to my life earlier also. but  now when i look back  i have realized that all those things happened for the best. So this time also i wanna believe this. I have planned my life journey. i don't wanna stuck in a one position. I wanna believe this time also 'every thing happen for the best' .

from my school days i had a dream that i would go to europe and I wanted to start a new life. Even though here also i'm having a good job, lovely family, helpful friends. but i always felt that something is missing in my life. that was to go abroad and explore the world. please tell me, is this a wrong thought ?. Should i stuck with the things i have and spend my life in a safe zone. ?   

i'm going to nothern cyprus. one of my friends told me it was a good country to live. hope someone could help me.

going abroad is one of my life time dreams. but i feel so un-secure doing this. but i have to do this. i need your help to made up my mind. I think i'm afraid of go beyond my secure zone. i wanna do this some how

Dear friends. I got a chance to go abroad for studies. but suddenly i got a panic attack and i feel terrible now. i don't know this decision is a correct one. i'm so frustrated coz i spent  quiet a lot money to get this chance.  What happens if this decision is a wrong one. i need your help. Please help me.

Firstly i would like to thank to  all these wonderful people here who supported me to change my life. I attracted many things since i entered this forum. My dream job , my soulmate, etc.

now i'm gonna start the next level. I wanna start my own job and have financial freedom.

I already started a web solution thing with one of my friends. It was one of my dreams from quite a long time. I promise you guys to share this success story within 6 months.

Thanks everybody for congratulating me.

She came to our office 4months ago. from the very first day i had a crush on her,not only because of her physical appearence but also the good attitudes she had.

But she already had a boyfriend. and it's about 7yrs affair. I thought she had a happy relationship with him. so i didn't wanna go and ask from her. I always felt she was the one. She had each and everything i imagined from a girl. We were already good friends.

Suddenly oneday she phoned me and told about her relationship and how badly she was treated by her boyfriend. I was shocked to hear that. She wanted to get rid of him but she was so affraid to do so as he had threaned her, that he would tell everybody about  the sexual things they had done. In our culture telling that sort of a thing about a girl is worst. Most men wouldn't willing to marry such a girl. She told me everything becoz she trusted me. I knew she needed help from me.

So i helped her to get rid of him. that f....cker did everything to get her back. He had even done the worst thing he could have done by telling her parents,friends,etc about the sexual things they had. He had also worned them that nobody would ever willing to marry their daughter. Parents were schocked and even they asked her to marry him. So i met her parents and promised them, what ever had happend to her i will marry her and do every single possible thing to make her happy all the time.  And i'm sure i will do that
