Interpretation of a quote
(1/1)
lilly:
Hello everyone,
There is quote from the Bible that I came across many times in different writings related to the LOA which says:
"If two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my father which is in heaven".
I came across it for the first time in the Power of the subsconcious mind by Joseph Murphy and in which he explains that "those 2" refer to the conscious and the subconscious mind.
In other books, such as the power of positive thinking by Norman Vincent Neale from the top of my mind, it goes with a more rational approach indicating that the 2 refers to 2 persons praying for the same thing which would make the power more powerful.
Now, I'm not a religious person per se, but I thought interesting that this quote was being interpreted in different ways when relating to LOA. I personally find the first interpretation more meaningful to me.
What do you all think?
Mr Brightside:
I do have to say when i read it the first thing that came to me was two people. You hear so many stories of people being separated by wars, and years later they finally meet again.
That being said considering it’s from the Bible, which I think is more of a personal internal journey, the prospective of this being a mention of LOA is very much possible.
lilly:
I too thought it was referring to 2 persons the first time I read it and when I saw the explanation, the metaphor made more sense to me. I think from an LOA point of view it makes more sense that it refers to an internal process more than 2 separate people since you can manifest things by altering your own mindset and that it doesn't need to include someone else.
