Question about the Universe

Love is here:
This is the one thing Ive never been clear about. Okay do I ask GOD or the Universe to manifest my desires? It seems like many people act is if they are one and the same but are they? Is the universe alive? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question. I have manifested by just saying both God and the universe but I can never just say the universe without saying GOD as well because im just not certain what that even means. I get the universe is everything around us but does the universe has its own consciousness and if it doesnt, why do people pray to the universe? If anyone can halfway explain this to me it would be greatly appreciated.

Well I guess one way to put it is that it doesn't matter what you call the consciousness or energy we call God or Source. And because this consciousness is in everything and everywhere we sometimes tend to call it The Universe because the Universe is all around us and everywhere. We are part of it, just as we are part of God. The main thing is to find the word that best represents this energy consciousness for you, because that will have the most power for you.. Some people say the Universe because of the connotations that God is an old guy in the sky who is judging us, so in order to get away from this idea they change the name to source or Universe or whatever works for them...
