Ideas for Experiment on animals to eliminate human intention

So My Mom and I go to the Petshop to have the family's dog's hair cut (first time at dog saloon).  It is really hard to cut his hair unprofessionally because he keeps biting and escaping vs attempts to cut his hair.
After the Dog saloon treatment, They say that the dog had to be sedated with pills because he kept struggling and wanting to bite the hair cutter ladies.
My question is:  ¿ If dogs have no expectation of pharmaceutical sedatives, Then why do they act sedated?  Actually ignore this first question.

 Human expectation can be in play.  They first said he had fallen off the bathtub and that his leg was hurt.  I'm sure it will be allright by tomorrow, but he just doesn't seem to want to stand up and be playful like normally.  He was more passive than normal.

a better question: Any ideas on an  experiment to be created ?Its purpose is  to test placebos in animals vs a pharmaceutical and have it be totally free from human expectation, then we'll prove if Intention does actually affect reality.

When humans are conducting research even double blind, I doubt some human intention will not be in the results in some way shape or form.
