What is Consciousness in your view?

Friends,
All the while, i was wondering what might consciousness mean, is it yet another Mumbo-Jumbo? Then i found the ture meaning of consciousness in perspective to law of attraction.
For me, consciousness means "Being aware" or "Being awake", as law of attraction says, "Your wish is my command" in other words you are given back as per your attraction. Which is why we need to be aware of our attraction, we even may attract things that we do not want, but we still think about them, worry about them, talk about them in other words, knowingly or unknowingly we are attracting it and we are given more of it, then we say, "Why Me..."?. "Why always me?". Answer is simple, we simply attracted and like always law of attraction did its Job. ;)
We need to be consciousness or aware of what we attract. We must attract what we want or how we want to see ourselves.
This is what i have found about consciousness so far. I believe i still need to cover miles to understand the true meaning of consciousness. Its indeed a vast concept.
Over to you now, i would love to know what does consciousness mean to each one of you. ::)

I am glad we have a section for consciousness.well now again hats off to power of law of attraction.
Few days back thought of posting a topic on consciosuness and today got to know the vibration has already reached you in spite of not mentioning it before:) This is what i call working on same frequency with Universe
It does play a very very very important role in power of law of attraction.,for me consciousiness means being aware of our " thought". Now the common question asked me always is how is it possible with 60 thousand thoughts going on each day. well would still say it is "POSSIBLE".
Before being introduced to law of attraction a year back even my thoughts used to get Muddled. pity my poor mind now :) it actually did not know which direction should i go for a run!!!, there used to be a kind of heaviness and i used to get exhausted in spite of having a smooth day at work.
What did i do to get out of this state of mind? .Yup got conscious about my thoughts!!!.
How did i do that???? ;)
Got into this Exercise where in after every half an hour at office or any place i was at would take a pause for a a minute or two depending on how muddled the thoughts were , stopped all the work or any activity i was engaged in and said to myself what am i thinking now? is it negative or positive am i focusing on the right kind of thought if it was a positive one would thank and move ahead and if it was negative would just say a loud in mind STOP and replace the same with some good memories which i had in my life. Initially the negative thoughts were rigid just not ready to move but with practice could kick them out of my mind with a lot of ease.
This was one of the best way for me to know if i am conscious of my thoughts. this practice of taking a pause after every 1 hr or 2 acts like a beep and mind automatically goes into the state of silence.
It is when we silence the chattering of our mind that we can truly hear what is in our heart and find the still, clear purity that lies within the soul. and a pure soul develops pure thoughts and pure thoughts reciprocate pure conscious mind. and thus we can be aware of our consciousness.

Incredible defination... So, we are inline with our respective understandign of consciousiness.

Very nice way to steal time out of your day job and indulge in somethig very critical activity "Check on Thoughts"... Thanks for giving the clue on how to do that. I believe you must post it in "law of Attraction Techniques Section".
It gives us a message to be to aware of our thoughts and thought process.

Really interesting subject this one......and actually I think there have been many different descriptions all saying the same thing.
I have found that being conscious is being aware that your ego driven emotions/feelings and personality are not who you truly are and that if you can stand back from those in what is called "The Observer" perspective (meaning you actually observe your thoughts from a different position) you begin to experience your current reality in a whole new way.
Sometimes I have used the technique of saying to myself...."I wonder what I will think of next" because this seems to crystalize the knowledge that our thoughts are often unconsciously generated from the vast library of our mind..........for me this has given me a certain self mastery over what the Taoists call the "Monkey mind" effect that seems to jump from thought to thought with no apparent rhyme or reason.....and also some control of the emotions that are then generated by it.
Which all definately helps when trying to direct the law of attraction in your favor!!
From what I have researched, studied and practiced there is many more layers to this as well but for now this is the most simplest definition I can come up with........
