The I Ching (Yi Jing) vs Law of Attraction
« on: January 24, 2012, 08:18:10 PM »
I found myself dabbling again into I Ching last night. For those of you who don't know, the most concise description of I Ching I can give is this: it is a form of divination in which a caster throws a collection of 3 coins 6 times which gives way to one of 64 hexagrams with possible relating hexagrams. It is cast with the intent to diagnose a current situation or possibly indicate future possibilities. Divination can also be made from Yarrow Stalks.

My point is, is that in a way we are letting a "third party" observer give us an opinion based on what we throw. I feel in ways it defeats the base purpose of LoA which is laid in the foundation that the one attempting to manifest must already believe what their present and future is with no doubts, eliminating any need for divination.

I haven't really done divination in a while, but when I did I was filled with many negative connotations of my situation based on the hexagrams I drew. I know that it won't be hard to release such negative feelings, but it certainly does feel as though it would block me in the process of manifesting if I continued to use such a method.

I really can't see how the two can ever co-exist. I'd really like your opinions on this when you get the chance.
Cheers :)
