LOA vs ESP vs intuition
« on: June 15, 2011, 04:46:59 PM »
I was just wondering if you all think there is any connection between these things?

I have one relationship that seems to respond directly in line with LOA- basically any expectation or belief is borne out. If I think negatively, negative things happen. If I feel good about it, I usually discover something positive has happened. This person can be pretty moody, so there is a lot of variation there!

But I wonder, is this definitely LOA, or could it just be some form of ESP or intuition? So, I feel good about something because something in that person's body language or actions tells me to expect good things, rather than that I cause good things to happen through my positive thoughts? Sometimes I feel worried about a particular reaction or event, and then get a sudden sense of calm, seemingly out of nowhere - and very often I discover that at the moment I felt the calm, something good happened. And again I wonder, did I "cause" the good thing to happen through the positive thoughts, or did I somehow sense that it happened, and the calm feelings came about as a result? It definitely feels like the thoughts just come, in reaction to a good event, rather than the other way around.

Any similar experiences or thoughts on this?

Ginny,
You just took the question right out of my mouth.
I have been pondering over the same question abut have been too busy/lazy to post.
But sorry, I don't have an answer.

My thoughts would be:
Current events/behaviour >> intuition >> bad event confirms intuition.

I don't think it is necessarily LOA, in my opinion.

Inara

Yay! A response! :)

I wonder. It is of course possible to rationalise LOA with a lot of common sense arguments - but I've had some pretty impressive results, so I think it's a useful metaphor at least.

The thing I find spooky are those times when there is seemingly no external stimulus, but my mood changes, and it turns out the situation has changed as well. It could be LOA, but in the circumstances I'm thinking of, it feels more like I am reacting to something I am not consciously aware of, rather than creating. Like say I might be worried about how child x is doing on their exams, fretting all morning - then suddenly calm comes, for no apparent reason, and later I learn that the exam ended at about that time, and they did well. And other examples, where I wouldn't even have a clue what might or might not be happening (eg getting a sudden worry about someone, and then finding out they were in a car collision sort of thing)

Anyway, thanks for your comments :)

Hi,

Before we get into the Law of Attraction first, we have to first understand what's the differences between ESP and Intuition.

Intuition is a sixth sense or the Psychic Faculty.
ESP, Extra-Sensory Perception, in my own opinion and explanation, is a perception/receiver tool and it's also a Psychic Faculty with two or more senses.

For example, if you are feeling bad all of the sudden, then that's intuition. Intuition can happen anywhere and anytime. They don't give you the full details of what will happen to you.

ESP can happen only when you mind has reached to an altered state. Brainwave Alpha or Theta state can highly be used for ESP. ESP follows this way: See/Touch/Hear/Taste/Feel + Inner Feel(Intuition). ESP more like an "add-on" for Intuition. If you see something bad happened to you, seeing yourself in the lottery and lost the game, that's an ESP, or "Add-On" + Intuition. That's why it is called:

Extra(Add-On)-Sensory(See/Touch/Hear/Taste/Physical Feel) Perception(Receive/Intuition)

Since you have this knowledge with you, I guessed there's not a need for me to compare Intuition into Law of Attraction. Let's talk about differences between Law of Attraction and ESP.

Law of Attraction is a metaphor or a system of belief(s) that plays an important role for attracting specific desires, consciously or unconsciously; a law.

ESP is a tool. Law of Attraction is a Law. You can use ESP for Law of Attraction. However, and in my own opinion, there are some areas where Law of Attraction has to disagree the ESP. Due to it's futuristic and capable of "Remote Fortune Telling", it actually creates some positive and negative impacts.

If your sensory is perceiving something good, then you will continue to attract more and more good stuff and finally, what you perceived may even be manifested.

However, if your perception is something negative, then you will continue to believe that that's true and soon it will also manifest into the reality.

Hope this helps,

Regards,
Berylac

Thanks for your reply Berylac :)

I have a slightly different definition of intuition versus 'ESP'. To my understanding, intuition comes from subconscious information that was originally derived from one of the usual 5 senses. So, for example, say you walk past a friend who is crying, but you are absorbed in your thoughts and so do not consciously notice her - still, the image was noted by your subconscious. And if you compounded this with say, knowing that her father was ill, you might have an 'intuition' that her father had taken a turn for the worse that day. It would seem like you got the feeling from nowhere, but really it is directly attributable to the usual senses. 'ESP' would be the same kind of thing, but no external information triggered the feeling (ie, hence the 'extra-sensory' bit of the perception - you have knowledge, but it cannot be attributed to information gained from the normal 5 senses). So, you just 'know' that something happened to her father, but she never walked past you and you had no idea he was ill, there was nothing you saw, heard, felt, smelt or tasted, consciously or unconsciously, that would have suggested this to you.

Just my take on it of course.
