Does Law of Attraction Really Work ?????

I so want to believe that LOA actually works and I have been working hard on myself for a few months, made a vision board, positive thinking, cleaning up my vibration etc, but there were two instances that I was really working on 1) Getting a pay rise at work - visualising that I would get paid what I was worth 2) Meeting and getting back with my ex boyfriend.
Well with work, I got a small bonus but did not get the pay rise I wanted, but it lead me to start studying on two other courses which may end up in me going in another direction work wise which may result in more money in the future.After this did not go the way I had envisaged I worried about whether LOA worked!
So instance 2) Wanting to meet with my ex boyfriend - he lives 250 miles away and when we finished a year ago when I was going through a really tough divorce from my husband, and I felt we finished before our time.  I just needed time to get sorted which I now am but want the chance to show him how wonderful I now am.  When he came into my life - very much in the LOA way, with me putting out the wish for someone who was tall, blonde, blue eyed, sexy, not much money, no kids who really really wanted to be with me.  Well he turned up and did not have much money and was quite jealous!Well he is now dating someone else and has told me that he is happy but I am convinced that there is more to us and that now I have spent almost a year on my own, working on all aspects of my life that we can work next time.
Well as I said he lives 250 miles away and this weekend I went down there hoping to meet with him and I ended up  seeing him in the supermarket with his girlfriend bby total chance, by accident.  He didnt see mee but I saw him, which is I suppose what I wanted.  But it was not my main wish.  I so want to believe LOA works!!! but now feel disappointed and confused.  Please can someone shed light on if this was a success or failure and is there any chance I can get him back in the future!!!!!!  Please help me someone who is more of an expert than myself!  Thanks in advance  KATE

You're proving to yourself that LOA is working for you. The key is to be very specific, in your goals by the sounds of it.

What you think is specific evidently isn't.  Give your goals to a 5 year old. Ask them, do you understand it?

Each goal should be separate.

What's that? get specific. How would you know you got a pay rise? Must it be at the same company?

Meeting and getting back with my ex boyfriend.

- 2 goals. So you saw him. That is a meeting on some level. So you had a girl with them. Did you go into emotional overdrive? That's what you're putting out.

It also sounds as if you have a time frame, in which these must happen. Go easy of yourself.
