I tried several times trying to contact my guide, but I didn't hear nor see anything. Maybe there are still negative and limiting beliefs associated with guides that are with me, that I still need to let go

CONTACTING SPIRIT GUIDES & ANGELS

Everyone has benevolent guides and angels with them, whether they know it or not. There are so many benefits to becoming aware of and communicating with these high spirit beings I couldn't possibly list them all. Just know they are always supporting you, and the more consciously and directly this happens the better.

My own experience with bright spirits... angels, spiritual teachers, and deceased loved ones... over many years has been a priceless benefit for my growing, personally and especially spiritually. There are a few things I've learned that I can share:

- Becoming aware of and communicating with guides and angels is easier than most people think. There's a simple meditation at the end of this article for starting out. Once you've established a relationship with them you may just chat any old time.

- Doubts are natural at first, because this is new and because most of the world considers it slightly nuts. With time and feeling their presence your confidence will grow. What cinched it for me in the beginning was, whenever I did what they suggested it worked out well... far better than if I'd gone my own way. Besides, when you open to the love it's very convincing.

- Communication with guides may take many forms, the most common being telepathy, or intuitive communication, in your mind. They will also give us pictures or memories or feelings or dreams or events in nature and with people or symbols or visions or astral journeys or smells and tastes or a subtle sense or hunch... and so on, in forms that have meaning just for you. Whatever form the message takes, the feeling with it is, "This is for me."

Your relationship with your guides will be unique and will evolve as you grow.

- Trying to figure out meanings with your mind doesn't work well. Instead, just listen and feel or sense what the message is. If it's not clear you can always ask a more specific question. Or "Hey! What did you mean by that?"

- Our guides and angels are purely accepting and loving, although they may challenge or even tease us in ways that get us to let go and go further. (They do have a sense of humor.)

- We are not subservient to our guides but they consider us as equals working as a team, although their wisdom is far greater than ours. For things to work out best I always "do what I'm told".

- Communication with spirit beings should be two-way. We can ask for help with something or for questions to be answered, and then let go and allow them to give to us in their way.

- We don't need to explain everything about a situation since they already know more about it than we do. My most frequent request has always been simply, "Please help."

- Demands don't work, usually, unless they see we need some sort of confirmation. Openly asking is always good.

- As my angel said long ago, "How is none of your business." Which means, don't tell them how to help you. Keep your long range intent in mind and see how they work out with you.

- Yes, we can ask for help for someone else... letting go of how that might work out... and even If.

- Holding on to a hierarchy or definitions of which types of guides and angels do what is completely beside the point. It's our connection, communication and love that truly matter.

Meditation to Contact Your Spirit Guides

Take time to make yourself comfortable, switch off the phone etc. ...
Take slow, gentle breaths in through your nose and concentrating on the out breath through slightly open lips...
Feel the air going deep and low into your body; feel the stale negative air and feelings releasing.....
Breathe in, breathe out... Breathe in, breathe out...
Place your focus and attention only on your breathing... Feel your body begin to relax... With each breath you take in, feel all the tension sift away from your body, leaving you calm and relaxed... Your thoughts drift in and out through your mind... Let them flow as your mind becomes quieter.
Mentally place a silver or gold shimmering haze of energy around your whole body, letting it expand each time you exhale. Let this keep you safe you from any negative thoughts and energies.
Gently let the feeling come in that you want to contact your own personal guide.
Create a place you can visualize in your mind, somewhere you find peaceful and know you are safe - like an anteroom of light.
Your guides can take on any shape. Think about how you feel your guide may look. In time they will take on whatever form they wish to appear to you, or no visual form at all.
Have a list of questions you would to ask your guide or guides. The answers may take a few days to filter from your your higher self down to your physical being.
Remember to thank them. They don't need our gratitude, but we do.

Once you have reached a beginning level with this form of contact your natural ability to connect with your guides will gradually improve.

10 easy ways to contact your spirit guardians

Angels, guides, totem animals and even ghosts are becoming mainstream in the media. Often I am asked “How do I contact my guides?”

We all have them and they are available to us at all times, but few of us know how to get them to help us. There really is no set way to do this. I will give you a few easy steps so that you too are receiving answers to questions in your life from those that know you best.

Our guides are always uplifting, encouraging and positive. They know us, almost better than we know ourselves. Guides will warn us of dangers, shady situations or people, traffic accidents, job decisions and so much more.

You can call on your guardians for answers to even the simplest questions. “Should I wear the green top or the pink one today?” They don’t mind answering you at all. Their position is to help you so that you can live a more happy and fulfilled life.

What a guide will not do

• Ask you to harm yourself or others.
• They will not direct you against your free will. You always have a choice.
• Guides will not warn you of your own death unless it can be prevented
• They will never give you dark thoughts or cause you any mental pain
• Guides will never be upset with you or angry with you (they don’t have those emotions)

A guide is like a good friend. They are there for you, but will never tell you things that will cause you harm or go against your free thinking. If you decide not to listen to their advice, that’s fine with them. They support you in any decision; even if it doesn’t always match their suggestions.

1. The most important suggestion I can offer is to take time every day to simply sit quietly for about 10 minutes. Quiet the thoughts running through your head about the laundry, the kids, a bill you forgot to pay. Push the thoughts away if they begin to intrude.

2. Once you have practiced the first one for a few days, you are now ready to begin to listen. So many times people believe that our guides will use a male voice if they are male or have a different sound than our own thoughts. While this can happen after years of working with guides, generally, your guide will use your own thoughts voice to communicate. Start by asking your guide basic questions. “Are you male or female?” “What is your name?” “Did we have 1 past life together or more?”

3. Keep practicing the stillness and the questions. It may take some time before you begin to hear the answers. You may think “Oh, I’m just making this all up!” while that can be true, there is one way I have learned to know the difference. When you ask the question, be relaxed. A guide will pop the answer into your head. When you are thinking… you won’t have that. Your brain actually feels differently when you are thinking about making up an answer. Try it now and you’ll see what I mean. Think about a red truck. See how your mind must work to form the image?

4. Do not get frustrated. If the images or words are not coming. Don’t sweat it. Try again another day. Some people will have immediate results and some will not. Don’t beat yourself up if everyone you know has heard from their guides and you haven’t. It could be that you are stressed or trying too hard. Relaxing and just allowing is the key.

5. If you can’t seem to get anywhere with the above, you may also try using auto-writing. This is where you hold a pen to paper, clear your mind again and start asking questions. Sometimes your guide will direct your hand or even lift your hand to write. For me, my guide will again, pop words in my head and I write them. Sort of like spiritual dictation. Allow anything to come through and don’t try to read the messages as you are writing. Just write. Let the pen flow and the words come. You can read it later and see if the answers make sense.

6. Guided meditations are all over the internet, on CDs and printed in books. You tube and podcasts have special meditations for meeting your guides. You can use these as a tool if you are having difficulty with the others. The speaker will walk you to various places and relax you. Giving you instructions so that you can easily visualize and communicate with your guides.

7. Another way I have taught to talk to your guides is through your pendulum. If you do not know how these work, it is a tool that simply works with your own energy and accesses your Higher Self or Over-soul. Get into a comfortable position, with no distractions and build a working communication with your pendulum. If you need to learn how to use one, simply google “How to use a pendulum”. This technique will help you to find their names, their reasons for being with you. You can ask if they are a life long guide or whether they are with you for a certain lesson.

8. If none of these seem to appeal to you, you may also ask your guardians to come to you in your dreams. Just before laying down to bed, simply ask “I would like to meet my spirit guides in my dreams.” It may take a few times, but it does work. I was teaching a student over the phone how to ask. I said the above out loud to her. Wouldn’t you know, my guides all came in my dream that night and we had so much fun!

9. Walking in nature and listening to the wildlife can also help you to better connect with your guides. Talk to them. Either out loud or in your mind and pause after your questions. See if something in nature is a sign, or maybe a song will pop into your head. Often our guides will be cryptic. Using quotes or songs to bring their messages through to us. Pay attention to the small things. Give it time, your guides will make themselves known to you.

10. Last but not least, even if you have tried everything and still cannot hear/see/find your guides, you can ask a medium/psychic to help you. Please try to find them for yourself first; they are more apt to come to you than to an outside source. Turning to a third party should be your last resort. You may have some fears or past beliefs that are blocking your communications. This psychic/medium may be able to assist you to clear them, give you their name and establish the connection for you.

Remember to have fun! Your guides are with you always, whether you know them by face or name or not. They always hear you and they will find ways to answer you. Be aware, be alert and know…you are Divinely protected.

This is critical, I think. It looks like a lot of people assume that to communicate with your guides it means you have to see them or hear them audibly. I communicate with my guides daily and I've never done either. The messages come to me through my thoughts. It was difficult at first discerning what were my thoughts and what ere communications. But through trying different techniques and being patient, I'm now very good at it.

They use music for me most of the time, i know it sounds weird, but whenever i have something on my mind and i turn on the radio the song always reflects what i been asking. Its like walking around with a personal radio dj

They use music for me as well. I remember once I was driving and having a little pity party due to a plateau in my weight loss and just not feeling pretty. I was listening to my ipod and a song came on called "God D*** You're Beautiful." I started laughing and said out loud "That was subtle."

Whatever religion resonates with you is the right one for yourself, at least that’s my opinion. There is no right or wrong, it’s all a connection to the same source.

Hi All,

I had heard about Angels and I had always wanted to believe in them... Until recently I have started asking for guidance from them (thanks to a dear forum member)... And I believe I am receiving messages from them

I was never aware of Animal Spirit Guides... But since a few weeks ago I have started noticing that I am suddenly coming across an animal name over and over again... I think this was around the time when I started praying to Angels... Maybe this post triggered all of it???

After a lot of research I am convinced this name I keep seeing is my animal spirit guide and He/She chose me and is trying to contact me... I feel SO BLESSED!!!

I know there is lots of meditations on YouTube about meeting your spirit guides, or animal guides. Maybe you should try it, who knows you might see something interesting.

Haha nice. I dont see the numbers as much as i use to , but my connection with the guides is also much better so i dont need it.

I tried this meditation a few weeks ago and got a really intense conversation with my spirit guide but was afraid to post here for fear of sounding crazy lol..

I relaxed and felt very much at peace and I asked to speak to my spirit guides. All of a sudden I heard a woman's voice go "I'm Monica" and she was telling me what she looked like, and was answering my questions. I would ask a question, and the answer would immediately pop into my head, as if there was a person standing in front of me answering me, but it was a conversation in my head instead. I've asked things about the future, about my relationships and I got detailed answers so we will see.

I am still struggling with "was this my brain telling me what I want to hear" or was it a true guide? It kind of freaked me out. I've tried it since but haven't gotten the same feeling since. I have trouble quieting my brain when I meditate

Your not crazy, not at all. Infact everything you just said I had happen to me also. Ofcourse the name is different, but everything else is the exact same. I would ask a question, and almost before i finished asking i would get a answer.. not even a split second later. I got to see her, what she looked like. The answers were not in a different voice, but they were not coming from me .. its hard to explain. I did hear the voice in another meditation but it freaked me out, and i broke out of it.

Trust me more people than you think are doing the same on this forum. I guess they dont talk about it because they feel like you, not sure how people will react to it. I'm sure even more are getting answers but dont connect it to guides.
