Am I thinking wrong?
« on: November 26, 2011, 03:13:47 AM »
Hi,

I'm trying to lose weight and stay that way, so not having to constantly worry about what I'm eating 24/7.

I used to binge and feel bad but in the past couple of days when I've been visualizing myself at my perfect weight, imagining that I have lost the weight, I've actually found myself eating loads more junk food uncontrollably.

What's worse is I ended up going to the toilet and throwing it all up. However, because I am visualizing myself in such a positive way, I don't feel bad. Actually it's all quite funny haha but I know this is really bad and making myself sick cannot be good for my health.

So really, I need help quickly. This has been affecting my life for years affecting my work, social life, hobbies, basically everything. It gets worse every year.

But yeah it's just worrying that I've gained a lot of confidence picturing myself so highly. What am I doing wrong?

Hello,

Here are some links on the subject...

http://www.secretsofaweightlossmaster.com/weight-loss-gratitude.html

http://applying-the-law-of-attraction.com/mblog/losing-weight-using-the-law-of-attraction/

http://www.selfgrowth.com/articles/Potts13.html

There are plenty posts on the forum as well. Try with doing breathing exercies when you feel the need to eat, EFT and NLP techniques which have been also explained here. Take it easy, plan your meals and make sure they are nutritious so that your body gets all that is necessary and the rest in your mind. I lost around 12kg last year by making sure I eat only when necessary (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and the rest of the time convinced myself that I do not need more food than that, did basic breathing exercises, affirmations and visualizations.. It worked through a period of 6 months..

Good luck :)

its a long way... i know about binge eating as well.

since i havent found the final solution yet- i feel a big difference, when i started to love my body FIRST. we say... if i only would weigh.... if i only would look like..... the point is though, that we need to love our body first- in order to lose weight.

hope that helps a bit  :)

I think I attracted this thread. I was just thinking about weight loss and how I can use the LOA to get to my ideal weight. Ive always been a relatively slim person and had a good enough body but the past year I put on about 15 pounds out of nowhere. Im still not what most in my country at least (usa) would call overweight but its still enough to make a difference in appearance. I would like to be my old normal weight. Ive been eating healthy all month, walking, jogging some and doing pilates. I may have lost a couple of pounds but its not coming off fast enough. I would like to be at least 10 pounds lighter in a month. Im believing and affirming that the weight will just naturally come off like its nothing.

Ive heard a few people say they lost alot of weight fast with the Atkins diet but im skeptical of the longterm effects of it since its high in fat and cuts out alot of really healthy food. That can probably lead to other health related problems.

FAT does  not make you fat ... SUGAR MAKES U FAT!.and carbs turn into sugar...you can eat brown rice , whole wheat bread and flour.. sweet pot instead of reg pot (i didnt eat bread at all or pot or flour) but u can adapt to what works for you i wanted to loose fast i lost 9 lbs my first week   i have reasearched this diet over and over ... almost all drs are promoting ... not necessarily atkins but cutting carbs these days .. alot of them were anti atkins .. but now they r changing there tune

Just had to pipe in with my opinion , i as well had success with Atkins about 8 years ago . i lost 35 lbs on it , have gotten away from the lifestyle for a bit but am going to re-focus since i have put on a few pounds yet again. It is a lifestyle not a diet though that i believe is the mindset you need to have. It does work amazingly though.
I would recomend it to anyone :)

Hello everyone,

There are some great resources on the subject of weight loss.  Beautifulmess12 is correct.  The Atkins diet is commonly known, and limiting carbs will undoubtedly help you lose weight.  But I do not think it is the best way out there.

Several diets with similar principles, but greater health benefits are now available.  My favorite health resource is Dr Joseph Mercola (www.mercola.com) and there is a lot about diet on there.  He has also written a few books.  But as far as easy to follow and simple books, I recommend the Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson http://www.amazon.com/The-Primal-Blueprint-Reprogram-effortless/dp/0982207700, and he has a great blog as well at www.marksdailyapple.com/.

Another great author is Robb Wolf.  Here is a link to his book http://www.amazon.com/The-Paleo-Solution-Original-Human/dp/0982565844, that has a little more science behind it.  I highly recommend all of these authors.  Perhaps they are directly related to LoA, but we do have physical needs here too, and understanding how to align to be in best health I think is a great application of LoA.

I hope this helps you, I have seen the knowledge from these books literally transform several peoples lives.  This despite the fact that the mainstream health professions ridicule them, much like they do energetic studies like the Law of Attraction

So with that in mind, remember what Arthur Schopenhauer said

"All truth passes through three stages:

First, it is ridiculed.

Second, it is violently opposed.

Third, it is accepted as being self-evident."

Love and thanks

G

  • xcfastdude14: Wow LOA really does work. Just have to keep faith in it. Its so funny when I'll be thinking of something, and then someone else will bring it up to me. Like today I had a craving for pineapple, and someone went up to me and told me that they wanted some pineapple, almost like they read my mind haha.
