I've lost 20lbs in 4 months, I feel and look better than ever! I like the fact that I can eat anything I want and not gain but have actually been losing steadily 1/2lb every two days. I'm happier and my vibrations are way up! Thanks! Boxing has been a blessing for me...it's something I took away from my relationship that I'm currently attracting back. I have something to thank my guy for!

When I lived out in the Redwood forest, and was hiking a lot with a backpack, and doing a ton of writing, I lost a bunch of weight and felt really fit and alive.

Then i got a corporate job and sat around and eventually started into some unhealthy, sluggish habits, and gained a gut...

Lately, though, I've been getting back to following my heart, just finished a new book and looking to share it in e-reader format, and been running, doing pull-ups, and i am in that "ideal weight zone" again, though i intend to do more strengthening of my upper body this time around.

Did you know that even though the brain is only about 2% of our body weight, it consumes in the area of 20-25% of our calories? That's a lot of energy used by the brain! It stands to reason that when we process our thoughts, through writing, we can burn calories and lose weight. Julia Cameron mentions this phenomenon in her book "The Artist's Way," as she noticed her students getting thinner as they wrote three stream-of-consciousness "morning pages" each day.

I really have to recommend Yoga to you guys, if you never tried. Just amazing all around.

Not only do you get a really good workout, that doesnt hurt the next day at all, but its almost like meditation. Very relaxing and toning at the same time.

I did it for a few months this year, and im getting back into it. Im a pretty tall guy so the things i was doing were nothing short of a miracle never thought i could bend that way haha.

Give it a go

  • excel: Loa at its finest. Last night I was going to the cinema and I had bought tickets earlier. So i was like "I hope i wont FORGET them" "I hope I won't FORGET them" I was telling the others, remind me not to FORGET them. And you know what, we went and I FORGOT them :D so we had to go back. If only rephrased it to, "Remind me to HAVE them in ME"

  • Laughoutloudx3: I thank when I agree or "like". I think that's what everyone does here. Who doesn't thank anyone? I see everyone with given & received thank yous, & with all of us new members the karma matches up with the thank you each of us have received. It's only the old members who don't match up!

  • BrandyGrandy: AND what the "thank you's" are about and why so many don't "thank" anyone. Like I said, I "thank" when I agree, sorta like the *like* button on fb, but I don't think it works that way here.  :/

  • Laughoutloudx3: ML, you say that this guy has been searching for you for months. So he likes you, and you turned him down. According to loa, shouldn't he be able to have you if he still wants you eventually? :P uh oh!
  • Laughoutloudx3: OMG Brandy, I was going to ask that earlier!!!!! I assumed that karma was the same as the amount of thank yous you have received, but a few people especially older members have karma and thank you numbers that are different from each other. I was confused on that, and so funny u asked when I was going to!!
  • BrandyGrandy: Can somebody tell me what the "karma" stat is? It looks like it goes up with "thank you's" received. But yet there are some on here who NEVER give "thank you's". What's THAT about? I give a thank you for a comment that I agree with or "like". Isn't that what you are supposed to do?
