not long time ago, I did a experiment on Low Carb Diet, although I'm not overweighed. I just try it first before I could use results convince my mother about it  ;D and It really worked. I followed Low Carb Diet for 3-4 weeks and lost at least 3 kilograms, but the most important thing is that I feel really strong, really healthy all the time  8) Now my mother's on LC Diet ;D

Yes, Weight Watchers and loa... It is a great program.  They have revamped the program, it to me is very doable.  I am very new to LOA, am learning and jumping in with both feet!  Good to meet you!

New idea I found in my email box:

Quote
Conrad,

It occurs to me that one can jump-start goal achievement by speaking
with one's future self - learning the "path" so to speak, from one who's
made the journey ahead of you (your future self). There is power in
belief - for maximum effect you must believe you are actually speaking
with your future self and that your future self actually did achieve the
goal(s) and is actually communicating with you. For some, the hypnotic
state of mind is enough to make this belief happen - others want a bit
more...

An exercise I did with a group of women seeking weight loss (and who
indeed lost weight and kept it off for years) that illustrates how I
embodied belief and is very similar to the one I reported earlier (I'm
"paraphrasing" the experience because it was several years ago and my
memory ain't all the good anymore):

We preceded this exercise with the NLP Outcome Frame
<http://josephbennette.com/resources/exercises/nlp-outcome> , which
gave us loads of material with which to work and is itself amazingly
powerful in jump-starting goal achievement.

Each person chose two spots on the floor (current self - future self).

While standing in the current self spot (we used a piece of paper on the
floor), each participant got present in all senses and spoke their goals
out loud to themselves along with their concerns and doubts - focusing
on emotional feelings. My job besides instructions for the exercise was
to help elicit their feelings and make it safe to express them.

Then they did a short exercise while standing on the current self pad of
projecting their successful future self onto the future self pad (again
focusing more on positive emotions and physical sensations relating to
their success). We engaged all senses with a series of sensory questions
("What does it look like? What does it sound like?" etc.) - I think you
know the drill.

Then the participant would move (run, jump, stroll, crawl - I used the
word "move") - to the other pad and take a moment to "put it on" (like
clothing). For those who crawled or otherwise "moved" slowly, I had
questions to help them focus, increase motivation, etc. I recall one
woman had a hidden ecology problem that came out at this time - she
crawled, so I asked.

We got busy on the future self pad embodying everything about the
success of their achievement - focusing on the feelings (how good it
felt to be able to make the hike one woman wanted to make, how nice
another felt looking in the mirror at herself in the dress she wanted to
wear, etc.). LOADS of positive feelings!!!

Then they embodied the feelings by patting their bodies all over several
times - to "get it" in every cell... etc. Once the future self was
completely embodied with all sensory modalities, it was time to have a
conversation with their "past self" - starting with a "listening
session" in which they listened to the delight and congratulations of
their "past self" now that they had achieved their goal.

Listening in that space is different than most people think. You'd think
you'd just speak and the other person would respond. And that works
well, too (just pass back and forth between pads depending upon who
needs to speak and who needs to listen). Instead, I asked participants
to, "listen with your body" to the past self (no need to ask questions
that have already been asked and are already known by the participant's
mind and body) - noting sensations by speaking them out loud. My belief
is that this level of communication is subconscious - the level of the
body - so using physical sensation fits my model.

Once the future self has felt all the sensations they are going to feel
(usually there is a sense of "doneness" that comes over the person), we
would acknowledge the information ("Thank you"), and then repeat patting
the hands over the whole body, this time, joining ALL the information
gained from past, present, and future together.

Then we "move" back to current self, this time armed with all the
information gained from our future self, and again "listened" while
looking at the future self space. It's about information - especially
information that helps us move from where we are now to where we want to
be in x number of months/years.

I would facilitate wherever appropriate with sensory based questions
like, "What do you hear? What sensations are you feeling (and where)?
What texture comes to mind?" etc. - seeking to involve as many senses as
would come out to play. More is better. I also had a quick discharge
method (RET) for abreaction (it never happened, but if it did, I was
prepared).

I'm sure there was more to it than what I've written above but you get
the idea. Speaking to my future self inside my head in a hypnosis
sessions is useful, but getting my body into it is another level
altogether, I figure.

I've done this exercise using chairs, too - for some, quite useful.

I didn't make up this exercise but I don't now recall where I got it
(Bandler maybe?). Perhaps if anyone recognizes it, they can inform me -
I do like to give credit where it is due.

Best,
Joseph

I have a success story to share! I lost 20 pounds last year through sheer determination and telling myself I was finally going to do it (I had struggled for a few years, would lose weight and then gain it back). And so I lost it and I was really healthy, but now I allow myself to pig out here and there and let myself have treats. I just tell myself how thin and successful I am, even if I'm sitting there eating greasy pizza, and I have maintained my weight for months now! :)
