Author Topic: Affirmations about a job didn't work - not sure what happened? (Read 274 times)

I really don't want to come across as ungrateful here, because I should just be happy that I have a job right now. But I would still like to share my story here of what happened today because I'm confused about what I did wrong.

One of the 3 major things I'm hoping to attract this year with LOA is a better job. I got a new job last year but have been miserable there since Day 1. Not the right fit for me to put it mildly! So I've been on the job hunt for something better. I had a interview last week at a company that went well. I ended up getting it, but I didn't want it because they wanted me to pretty much run the company which I wasn't comfortable with. But it was no big deal.

Then today I had another job interview for a company that I thought was going to be PERFECT. I researched it and liked what they did. The location was perfect, and I just had all around good feelings that this was IT. So leading up to today I was repeating this affirmation on a regular basis: " (insert company name here IS the job that I've always wanted, and enjoy going to every day". I couldn't sleep last night because I was so excited because I just KNEW it was going to be good. But as the interview progressed it was EXACTLY the OPPOSITE of what I was looking for in all aspects. I got so depressed during the interview knowing that this wasn't what I had hoped for after completely believing.

They just called a few minutes ago and I ended up getting the job. But it's not something I would even consider. So my question is... what happened? I truly believed this was my perfect job. In one way I guess LOA worked because I did get the job, but on the other hand I don't want it. I know I will keep looking and eventually something will pan out, but I truly felt this.

I think I'm going to make a list of every quality I'm looking for in a job and focus on THAT.

Well it could have been a number of things but one that is common, because reality is so compelling. Is that you were affirming from a place of lack, which brought the reason for affirming. Do your affirming because you enjoy it and it brings you good feelings not to make something happen. If you are doing it to make it happen it is because you are aware that you currently are without what you are affirming for. And you cant be aware of somethings absence and see its presence at the same time.

ive been in similar situations many times, its like new places old faces.

i think you were doing everything to attract a new job, and you were not focused on how your job should be, you eventually got a new job that eventually you didnt want, cause ultimately thats what you were vibrating.
and you also said you were too nervous the night before , that indicating your vibration wasnt what you wanted it to be.

you always get what you are, if you dont feel good at your old job, it is hard to find the one you-d like, caused thats what your vibration is, paradoxal, but that is the law

#1 thing : try to feel good all the time, not the easiest thing but the most effective.
