Want my soul mate back, but new to LOA

Okay, I'm brand new but have been reading various forums in the recent weeks. I will also continue to read other posts so we can be a support to one another.
To sum up my situation... "I could have likened him to a werewolf for leaving me, but I provided the full moon."
My love and I were together for more than 4 years. In the last year I grew complacent, had issues with alcoholism and took him for granted. The relationship finally fell apart. I thought I wanted it to end as well, but now I'm questioning that and I'm so regretful. At the peak of our relationship we were madly in love, respected one another tremendously, laughed, explored, learned and made each other better people. I grew lazy. I messed up big time. There were bad elements also and I can explore them further if anyone is interested.
Here's the real problem: he has moved on. All within a few weeks. He's in love with someone else. But, I can't help but intuitively feel that we had a bond of true love and he may be back one day.
LOA intrigues me. I believe in it. Yet, I don't know what to do. I love him and want to spend my life with him. Where do I begin? Is it even possible?

Of course you can do it. I suggest going and reading some success stories just get your spirits up and see how other people did it. After that we have lots of posts on step by step application, but you will find that in most success stories as well.
The key right now is to stop all the negative feelings, and get yourself into a happier place.

Hello and sorry for the way you are feeling. There are people on this board who can tell you a lot more than we on where to start but look at the stickys to begin with

But I wanted to address something in your post about your partner having moved on. Now I don't know the situation and I am not here to give false hope as yes, people can fall in love within a few weeks but I believe it is rare. From what you have described he too is dealing with hurt. You were together for 4 years. People don't move on that quickly (unless they are a psychopath, lol).

The best advice I can give you, speaking from my own experience as I did everything wrong when me and my man broke up, is let him be for a while. Work on yourself and the issues around your breakup that you describe in your post.  Let him do what he needs to do, even if it is seeking solace in another relation for now.

Read about LOA and realtionships on this board, there is lots of great stuff on healing from within, letting go, EFT and so on which can be helpful. My advice would be to start here before you even begin to start thinking about getting him back.  Remember, it is not the old relation you want back, that obviously was not good, it is a new, fresh relation that you are seeking where both you and he go in it with the love you have had, but also with healing and new experiences. If there is a true bond there you can work through your issues I believe but it takes time.

Thank you so much for replying to me! I guess if we're all in this together we can give each other some boosts. The problem is that I keep thinking about my ex partner with the new girl and it creates a tremendous amount of pain. That's normal, right? And this particular girl he is with has always had a thing for him, and she won. How do I get that out of my mind? What is EFT? I'm willing to take as long as it takes, for I want some time on my own to feel comfortable being single and work on the things I've always wanted in life. I will be patient. I'm in the midst of NC as well. I'm just worried that if I don't contact at all (I'm thinking a full year) that he'll end up married to her! But I have to do what is right for me first. I just want to be able to let go and let the universe handle to entire thing. Any advice on that? Has anyone ever reunited with a past lover that moved on to a new relationship by positive thinking and letting go?

I would suggest don't give it a timeline - like a full year.  What if he came back sooner?! EFT is Emotional Freedom Technique.  Go to YouTube and check out EFT videos.  You can follow along with the person and see how much difference it makes.

True, don't give it a timeline. He may be ready sooner than you expect. In that case, you'd be blocking it. But if he does  take longer than that, it might feel disappointing. And you don't want disappointment and sadness clogging up your vibration. Just breathe deep and smile. He's already yours, in the sense that all time is one. And the present is what matters, because that is where you create


Oh and one more thing you should keep in mind: no matter how long it has been, People who are important to us in our lives will always hold a special place. He will always care for you, and no new person in his life can change that or have what you had together. Irrespective of the length of time that has passed, you can always easily fall back in love with each other. I remember reading somewhere, once you've been with someone, your brain can remember the neural pathways associated with being in love with that particular person. isn't that nice to know?
