Hi all,

Something has happened this evening which has made my head spin and I wondered if you had any thoughts or could throw some positivity my way...

I went for a drink tonight with a friend and as I was walking back to my car happened to glance in at a restaurant and saw my ex there with a guy having a meal!!

Really don't know what to think as it has really made my head spin and I am frantically trying not to be negative about it...

Any wise words appreciated.

All I can say is stay calm, you don't know what it was all about, so don't project anything on to it. I know it must feel weird, but my only advice is focus on yourself. Be good to yourself and keep moving.

I just wanted to say you are doing great. I went back and read this post from the start and could see the great strides that you made along the way. Dont let this bump in the road get you down. Things happen for a reason, but you have to have faith that everything will be good in the end.

When I was split with my ex i went on a few dates, and even dated someone for a short period of time. But all that made me realize is how much i really did miss her, and what she had that these people didnt. My ex at the time did the same thing, and she also realized that she left something great and even though she had another boyfriend she knew that we had something special.

Just look at it as part of the journey, and dont sit there and dwell on the worst outcome, because you dont know if that is something that will finally wake her up to realize how special your relationship really is.

My advice is DO NOT REACT... recognize that everything happens for a reason and you do not know why they were there.  It is a good sign that you saw her.  Be grateful and KNOW FOR CERTAIN that everything will be okay.  you have come a very long way.  Be grateful for where you came from and the progress you have made.

Just focus on yourself and the outcome, don't pay attention to what she is doing. Dating other people may be what is needed in order to realize faster and better what she wants and then come back to you.

Hi guys some really good news!

My ex just called me and said she was feeling unwell because she went out after Uni yesterday with her friend Jon (who is practically married) and had a few drinks... so it wasn't a date it was just her mate!!! woohoo...

I am going to see her in a mo as I am picking our daughter up as she has been on a school trip! I feel so relieved, and a little silly... back onwards with the positivity!

Thank you so much for your messages of support and words of wisdom! As usual it is very much appreciated and I am very grateful for you all.

Thanks guys, the support on this forum is so uplifting!

I saw her tonight, very briefly to collect some of my things from our old house as she is moving – she was very stressed, she is in her final year at uni and with the move and everything else to organise she is probably right to be stressed – moving alone is a very stressful thing. In the past I would of been quite down by her reaction but I completely understand that it isn't really towards me and I am staying positive!

I thought it best not to engage her with too much conversation, I just maintained my positive smileyness and didn't out stay my welcome – am seeing her again on Sunday when I have the little one and again on Monday when I collect my last thing from the house – so pleased I get to see her so many times and am very grateful for it. I think just being happy around her show's that I am not needy or desperate and am detaching to a point.
