Some Advice and Guidance, Please

Hello all, I believe I was led to this forum due to my current situation. 

   I started menopause in Oct. of '06 and I just haven't been interested in sex or romantic pursuits.  I was also unemployed for 2 yrs. due to a lay-off and the busted economy.  I was very happy just cruising along, making re-employment my #1 priority. Not really looking or caring if anyone came my way.

I was hired in late Dec. and started work in mid-Jan.  I did give a passing thought to"wouldn't it be cool if I met someone at my new job."; but I didn't have much faith in that thought.

So here is my question: I know that when the universe throws something in your path, a lesson is to be learned.  I am supposed to do something, I just don't know what, because of the circumstances.

The romantic interest that I have is my assistant vice-president; yes, I am in her direct chain of command; there is a very clear non-permissible policy concerning romantic involvements between staff and management, so I don't think mentioning my attraction is a good idea.  I should also mention that I am not certain she is single; she doesn't talk about anyone special, but that could be a privacy thing.  I also don't know if she is into women or not, again, it would be rather sticky and rude of me to ask.  I am not out on the job; if she is perceptive enough, she may have guessed that I am.

I found this forum by trying to find advice on the "After Ellen" forum.  One poster was commenting that her heart stopped every time she looked at her desired one; another poster answered that if her heart was stopping, according to the laws of attraction, the object of your desires' heart probably stops too.  So I Googled to find the exact Law and here I am.

I have cut and pasted tips from this forum, about letting go and sending love to the person you want.  Also about surrendering to the light of divine love; also about setting it and forgetting it.

These are my question:
When to stop sending loving thoughts; i.e. - is there a time frame for this process?

How often to try and achieve detachment?  Every time a possessive, jealous, or insecure thought creeps in?

Also about the process of repeating so & so love me?

And how do you detach/ not care if you are ever with that person if you are sending loving thoughts, chanting the so & so loves me mantra, and visualizing the future relationship?

How do I ask for a sign and how do I recognize it? She does not comment on anything of a personal nature with me even though I have complimented her on jewelry pieces and the way she wears her hair on occasion; would that be something to ask as a sign?  If she were to comment on some aspect of my life?

Also, I saw in another topic someone was using rose quartz and it was helpful.  How do you use it?

You need to do what feels right for you but I personally don't advise getting involved with a superior at work, especially if you value your job.

Here is the other thing, women are VERY intuitive and my guess is that she does know that you are gay and that you are interested in her and she is not showing any interest because she feels the need to set boundaries.

I know it's difficult as you really like this woman but I would advise you to focus on someone else who you know is interested in you and who you don't work beneath.

I do wish the best for you, whatever you decide.

ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE! If you have feelings for this person imagine being with them and FEEL it, as you imagine it. With everything too, if there is another job or you want more money whatever it is, IMAGINE it happening in your mind and FEEL how amazing it is as you're imagining it. The feelings are just as big if not bigger then the actual goal. It's the energy you're sending to the universe letting it know how big your intention is. After you do that from my personal experience with this whole thing, (I've had manifestations, some took 2 days, some a couple seconds I swear! and some a month and some are still in the process) I know this works.

Once you're done with the visualizing and feelings, LET IT GO. From what I've learned for myself that means, NOT asking "Is it working?" "I wonder if it will happen this way when it does.." "Am I doing this wrong?" "I wonder if she is straight, I wonder what she is doing" blah blah blah. These are all examples. That's not letting go and ALL the thoughts that come along with it. If you're focusing on when it will happen then you are not FULLY trusting the universe. I think this is the number one reason why this doesn't work out with alot of people. SO many years, lifetimes! spent on over analying, low self esteem, being traumatized, being depressed, being told for YEARS "YOU CAN'T. I CAN'T". So much that it has been EMBEDDED into us, now we are being asked to FORGET all that start with a new life slate, forgive yourself forgive all those that have hurt you, be open, come from a place of yes, and FALL IN LOVE WITH OURSELVES? and FIRST AND FOREMOST HAVE HAPPINESS FROM WITHIN? Whew! The work! and yeah it's alot of work but it's the first step . I bring all this up because once you cleanse yourself with all this then those "When will this happen?/Is it working?" thoughts that are the opposite of letting go, will melt away to nothingness and will have no energy or power that they will hardly be noticed. We all get sad negative thoughts but don't fight them, don;t suppress them, be aware and become aware that they mean you no good and shift your focus on something else. Whenever I get a negative thought or I notice I'm not "letting go" I realize it then I start to list things I'm greatful for then I end it with "I'm so happy to be who I am, I am so amazing I love myself" and I add the FEELINGS to correspond with my words and inevitably I come out smiling and the negative thoughts have already since I start listing all I'm grateful for, become nothingness.

Focus on doing what makes YOU happy, Law and Order makes me happy I watch about 2 eps when I get home. Think what makes you happy? Painting your nails red? Starbucks? Piano music? Cooking? YOU deserve to be happy so DO EVERYTHING that makes YOU happy, do the  visualizations whenever you please, wondering how often or how long is again not letting go, make a list of everything you're grateful for everyday! Treat the attatchment/negative thoughts with grace but take the power back from them as soon as you notice they have come around. Fall in love with yourself, get to a point where your happiness comes from within YOU because you are you.

So many people have achieved a relationship with exes and specific people. Don't ever question that, don't evr let others trump on YOUR desires and manifestations. There are SO many threads on here with people talking about achieving it they are proof it is possible because anything is possible

It is possible to have a relationship with that specific person if you want it, if she doesn't match your vibrations, guess what the universe will give you? Someone that does! and they could be just as great as her or even better! The universe will give it to you. Trust. Trust yourself too that you're doing great at this. If you feel like you are not then the universe wil give you more of that too. And if you're wondering why some take so long to manifest and if you're being negative, the negativity seems to happen right away, That's not letting go.... That's not trusting and that's not you focusing on your happiness first and foremost.

Hello again, and thanx for the responses.  I have been ill for 2 weeks, so I was not feeling up to posting.

KnJ; let me respond to you 1st.  I understand your advice from a practical point of view, I am also a pragmatist.  But, everything I have read on LOA defies practicality; the basic LOA is that we can have anything we desire, all we need to do is ask and believe.  So in the spirit of LOA, I question your advice.

Now, about what feels right to me; I care far too much about this woman to ever intentionally cause her any distress or harm.  In the corporate non-permissible relationship policy, it is stated that the manager could face termination; so that will stop me from doing anything rash or foolish.  I want only what is for her highest good.  Keeping with my interpretation of LOA, if this is meant to be, the relationship is on it's way, if not, then it is not for the highest good of all concerned.  I can accept that, this is not driven by my ego, I really do give a damn about her.  I have known for awhile that her career is more important to me than my own; but that is the place I am in; partly because I have made another career choice and partly because I've already done the corporate dance for over 3 decades and am ready to try something else.  I am now working on manifesting $1300.00 so I can attend classes to become a certified poker dealer.  This is so I can double my current salary and recover financially what I lost during my long-term unemployment; plus it is new, different than corporate life, and sounds like alot of fun.  And perhaps it is the Universe opening a door so that my desired relationship can manifest, we shall see.

lashark, I trust you read the above post and know why my response is delayed.  Thank you so for you supportive and positive answer!  Oh, and by the way, I love Great Whites, one of my favorite animals. Do you watch Shark Men on Nat Geo?  Have you seen Air Jaws?

Back to LOA; I purchased last week, "Ask and It Is give", by Ester and Jerry Hicks.  If you do not have a copy, get one.  Since we are both newbies, I already consider this book my Bible.  Wonderful teachings, great advice.  I also saw an answer by Edge in another topic; I believe it might have even been to one of your postings.  Anyway, the analogy about asking and letting go was compared to ordering food in a restaurant; that really hit home with me and I have been working on that in regards to attracting that specific person. I am also researching and trying to raise my level of vibration. Why not project love?

And yes, I do what makes me happy.  As I said above, I want to be a poker dealer, so I am getting into manifesting the $1300.00 needed to pay for the course and visualizing working in that industry.

I still want to know what the Universe was waking me up to when this romantic attraction hit me over the head.  The need to know why is very strong.  Do you have any info or opinions on signs?

I think I saw shark men a couple of times, never air jaws. The shark man though is what really got to me, he holds on to the fins of great whites as if they were sea turtles and they just swim along with him riding on their backs, I forgot his name but he is known as the shark man. I love great whites too! sharks are my 3rd favorite animal. <3 They are so precious,  but ok enough with that before I start scaring people.

I think you got attracted to your person because LOA is going to lead you down the path of finding true love, you have alot to learn and realize as we all do. I believe you are meant to be with yoru true love, and the universe said Hmn, how do we get this pragmatic girl to take the steps needed for her to find true love,
which I'm sure on some level you were desiring, which led you to LOA and to get you to take interest in learning and changing, the universe gave you a love interest as well, if you didn't have it you might not have posted on this forum, ? Whether it is with her or someone else IMAGINE it and FEEL it and if it doesn't work the universe will give you someone just like her or even better! For example I had to go to surgery and I started looking up LOA advice for health and I believe I was to get surgery so I could learn and change ceratin things that would keep me healthy for life, if I hadn't been in pain after my suregry I would never have even mentioned my health in any gratitude journal or anything, and now I feel great and perfect and still give thanks. Sometimes we get thinsg thrown at us that we don't like but like you said there is something to be learned and sometimes we get put in situations that we don't like so we find solutions and those lessons will stick with us for life and allow us to have an even better life. A lady said something on this forum that has stuck with me for life. Being positive might not change situations but it changes how you operate in the world, how you behave and act and THAT does change situations. 

haha I could write a book on my opinions of signs and amazing examples of them , YES they exist! and oh man they feel so good! and when you think is that a sign? it is always a sign, the mind blowing part is that you can ask for a specific sign as an answer to a question or set it up that way and you get it. I know I did, I was having some doubt and I asked the universe if I was meant to use LOA to obtain all my desires including having my ex as my next bf I want to see a blue butterfly today! All day I envisioned seeing one as a painting on a car, it was about 9pm and no sign I was in tears going with the flow then I saw on a site 3 different posts by 3 different people in this specific order
"Attract Abundance" (my dudes name means abundance)
"My butterfly" (a story about a girl that asked for a blue butterfly as a sign and saw one painted on a car)
"he came back to me"

I've always had signs but this one I was specific about and it was delivered in a way that left me with "unwaivering faith" and that is a big part in LOA, to believe. Yeah signs are cool.
