Today I deliberately asked for a sign, feeling a little down because of the apartment I got, -the circumstances behind it, where it's situated, the tinyness of it etc. I also feel guilty for not having been grateful enough for the place I live at now, so yes, I am a little down and out about the whole thing. As things are I have to accept it, or I'll be without shelter in a little more than a month. I AM grateful that I got the place now, but still it's all weird...

So I asked out loud, intent on accepting whatever answer I got, "show me the meaning behind giving me this apartment, -within 5 minutes". Not even two minutes passed before I heard a sound right outside my window, -a woodpecker sat hammering away in an pole for transporting electricity to my home. I've never seen them so close before, normally I just hear them. Same here. For things that I have manifested, I dont remember getting any signs but when I was wanting my ex back, I got so many signs, freaky signs that would make a believer out of anyone and that didnt manifest. That is why now, I dont dwell on signs too much. I notice them but try to stop myself from analyzing them too much. Once my desires manifest, then I can think about this or that that pointed to the manifestation. As for numbers and the meaning of seeing the different numerical patterns, that is different cause that for sure does mean something but other little things like seeing someone's name everywhere for instance, I definitely dont dwell on something like that. A few weeks ago I saw several weddings take place and heard a song playing in a restaurant immediately after writing down that that song would be me and my guy's song (whoever he will be) and I got excited for a second but put that out of my mind. Signs get me too attached to when the next sign is gonna happen lol, my mind is really funny how I can get obsessed with things so I make sure not to dwell on things like that too long.

i mean I DO believe in signs and i get them alot.... just that i cant confirm that it happened before something manifested.

I've been creeping around this forum for a few days now, do I decided it was time that I officially joined. I am very new to trying to be in touch with the Universe, but I feel like I've been incredibly lucky so far.

The other day I asked the Universe for a variety of signs to let me know if this guy I am hoping for a relationship with is worth my time and energy. When I got in my car, the song playing is the one that I associate with him and I passed a billboard that had his birthday in huge, bold letters and numbers advertising for a concert. I still haven't given full trust into the Universe (Shame on me, I know) so I asked it to send me an incredibly specific sign. He wants to eventually move to NYC and live there forever, so I asked for an NY license plate on the kind of car he drives. I'd completely forgotten about it, until I was walking to my parking garage and saw exactly that, the only car waiting on a stoplight, in front of my apartment building. I live in the middle of the country, so northeastern plates are rare.

Nothing has manifested yet, but I am incredibly hopeful that he will (And he WILL

) initiate contact besides Draw Something lol.

Im still torn between if that is a sign or a actual manifestation you did.

You asked for a car with NY plates, and you got that. Does that mean the guy is coming, or did you get that because you asked is something im still trying to get a grasp on myself.

I know for me when i was trying to get my ex back, i got several woman who looked like her and just a general increase of woman around me. I also liked this new car very much, but there is no way i can afford it right now, but guess what over the next few days i saw it everywhere. Now this is a 6 figure car, so the odds of people owning it is slim as is.

People who ask for signs get it, because they asked, and it manifested. Now to get the actual item or person you want obviously is a little more difficult.

I agree with stefzilla. When you ask for something specific as a sign, I think you're just manifesting that intention. That's why I don't think it's a good idea to ask for signs or to get too hung up on them. That's not to say that signs don't happen or shouldn't be appreciated. I get signs all the time - literally every day. But I don't ask for anything specific - I just acknowledge when I get them, express gratitude and move on. I don't know if it's an indication that my manifestation is close (I really don't concern myself with timing) but that I'm on the right track and in alignment.

Also a person cant ask for signs all the time and be detached at the same time. I also think remote seduction and things like that are doing too much just my opinion because its trying to make something happen. Of all the success stories ive read, vast majority are from people who dont do any routine or try to make something happen or get so attached to seeing signs all the time. They set their intention and get themselves to a higher vibration, (healthy happy place or whatever you want to call it), go on about their life and it all comes together.

at one point i was obcessed with asking for signs ... i drove myself nuts..lol... however some of the signs i see that i put most faith is are reoccuring numbers. to a point where its puzzling in that case i come home and look up the meaning .. or IF im thinking about something .. wondering if .. or abt someone .. and i see a sign that may answer that question .. i do remember hearing on the "secret" her telling you to ask for signs .. so i dont think its going to mean you are doubting .. we all need reassurance from time to time .. as long as we arent obcessing about it

I'm going to play devil's advocate a bit here.. About signs just being manifestations: What if I'm asking for a sign about something, but not a specific object to appear? For example: a few times I asked "give me a sign if (my ex) is thinking of me", and I saw a van with the name of his town on it. Or "Is he really my soulmate? Give me a sign if he is"..and I saw two white pigeons/doves by the side of the road. Or websites with mended hearts all over them (which is what I saw during my RS visions).

Now I didn't specifically ask to see the name of his town, or the birds, or hearts. I asked for a sign that we were meant to be and I got them. To me, those were real signs showing up days later.

Maybe the key with signs is to not ask for specific objects but rather an idea of some sort??

I can't say whether those specific things were signs or manifestations, but I do still say it's best not to ask for signs. You should be looking within yourself for the answer to those questions. Your intuition will tell you if he's thinking of you or if he's your soulmate. Think how much more powerful it would feel if you saw those things without asking for them. I can tell you it feels wonderful to see something or hear something that I know is a sign but that I didn't ask for.

Also, just my opinion, but you're asking for signs that he's thinking of you, etc., is a signal to the Universe that you don't believe you will manifest your desire. You are showing your acknowledgment of the lack of your relationship by needing reassurance of these things. Instead, look within yourself to know these things and let that feed your belief.
