Medium/LOA:contradictory concepts? who's right? what should we trust?

Hi to everybody!


Even though I've been reading this forums for more than a year, I just registered!(btw i'm french, so here's my excuse if I make mistakes writing ). I like how it's always very supportive and active!
Like many people here, I'd like to attrack my ex boyfriend back, I might tell my story later on if you'd like to hear it or if the opportunity arises.
But for now I just wanted your views on this general subject, which I think might interest other people as well, or at least make us think for a minute.
 
What do you think about clairvoyance/medium (not sure of the exact word, but: when someone predicts what's going to happen in your future) in regards to law of attraction?

I mean, do you think some things are already established and can't be changed no matter how good you practise LOA, or how happy and positive you get yourself to be...?

I've noticed that very often here you people say "...if it's meant to be.../if he's the one meant for me..." or things like that. What do you mean by that? That everything is already written?

If you'd like a more concrete example, here's mine: for about 2 years I've been practising LOA, finding suport in it and  a great way of motivating myself improving my life and myself, a good phylosophy of life I think. I like the idea that I can have an influence on what's going on in my life, that what's next isn't written yet and depends on me and my attitude towards life.

Lately, I've been given the opportunity to get a short meeting/consultation with a medium. I thought "why not after all". Overall, what she predicted was quite positive (settled down/married in 3 years; good situation; 2 children; going to get back with my ex boyfriend but he won't be the one, i haven't met him already...). Actually her predictions aren't the things that stroke me the most, I was very confused by what she said about my past and present, without me saying anything about it first. She did'nt say much during the short meeting, but all she said about past/present was very accurate, so I'm wondering about the future part as well now...
I realised that even though what she predicted was positive, I don't like the idea that everything might already be planned, and that whatever I do in term of LOA it's not going to change what's already in store for me, if you know what I mean.
It let me a bit confused in regards to LOA, like "if everything is already planned for me, then what's the point of LOA?", so I hope your opinions will make me regain my faith and conviction in the power of LOA 

For instance, I'm wondering: can I still hope being in couple for a long time with my ex-boyfriend, can the LOA make me be and stay with him even though she said he wouldn't be the one for me soon?


I've read that predictions are valid on the day of the consultation but can change from one moment to another depending on what's happened in between (like: on day A the prediction says event B is going to happen, but if event C happens between, your prediction on day D might no longer be event B but turn to a different prediction E... doubt that makes any sense, and I don't really know what to believe, but i say it anyway, in case it can help the discussion..)

Admittedly, I had never heard of the clairvoyance before I came across your post and I got curious enough I got my reading from one just now.

I have been trying to use LoA to attract my ex back but the medium just read we wouldn't get back together 'cause he's a driven person and relationship for him is secondary. She said even though we do, in the next two years it will be ending anyway!! 
She said I will find my Mr. Right in 1.5 years.

To be honest, this kind of discouraged me a bit. I was like 'so, LoA is not gonna work!?!?' you know what I mean?...
I hope she was wrong but just by his first name, she could read his personality accurately   

Sorry I can't answer to any of your questions but I do wanna know as well who I should believe....

My family has gone to see a psychic since before I was born - I'm 28! She told my mother she was pregnant with me!
She also predicted my ex coming into my life... 6 years before he came into my life.

As for what to do who to trust.. Maybe there are just different experiences in your life that are lined up so to speak....
If you're negative nancy, those will be your experiences.. if you're positive polly, those will be your experiences....

But most of all... because I have spent oodles of time researching God and whether our lives are per-determined and all that..
and can I just say, put it out of your mind. No one knows for sure! Keep a positive outlook and keep creating in your experience.

I am an Empath and I can do readings for others but I have a small group of people that I work with and we are all empaths and we work together to help each other, support each other and none of us tell each we can't have something we want, none of us.  We support each other and the spirit of LOA.  We are working on our gifts, improving them and it's awesome to find that the voice within (my own intuition) is correct when they do a reading and get the same feelings I have. 

You need to read The Power of your Subconscience Mind, it has all the answers and it explains better than any other book I've read how your mind really works and how to get anything you desire.

Read it and stop listening to people who don't fall in alignment with your desire.

dont let it discourage you! she said you wouldnt get back together, and then said even if you did itd end within two years? so which is it? one minute shes saying you wont and next telling you what would happen if you did!

so please dontlet it discourage you, trust yourself and trust the universe.

Even though the reading I had, didn't break all my hopes or change my whole conceptions of things it dit bring me to question and doubt a little, concerning LOA. Thus, some of what you're saying (especially you're very complete post Mariposa, thanks for that) does help me to regain some faith in LOA. And as we all know to believe is the key in LOA.
I just don't like the idea that "we never know", that maybe everything's already planned, so maybe I should just stop thinking that maybe it's the case. I guess sometimes I'm just afraid that practising LOA and hoping for some things is kind of making myself live in an illusionary world... Well probably wondering to much these days, i'll try to stop that as well

Anyways thanks a lot for your replies, it feels good to share opinions. It seems like a very open and welcoming community forum:)

i go to a particular psychic and she is a very encouraging woman... but from what i understand .. she tells you the path you are on right now... u can choose to go another path... thats up to you.. she has helped me stay on the right path according to what i want.. i stay positive.. i dont loose faith .. i visualize i feel the outcome.. i meditate, i tap , i affirm , i say gratitudes .. i have my bad days .. but i NEVER loose faith in the outcome... if u dont like the direction she says u r going in ... CHANGE it!.. the first time i got a reading i was told it wld NOT work out for us.. now i get positive ones everytime. i talk to her  every 6-8weeks ..when i get a negative reading it makes me all the more determined to  change it ... I WILL get what i desire .. i will not have it any other way!

Good one you pointed out here! That's true...
You know after getting this reading, I dreamed. In my dream, my ex was looking at me or trying to start a convo but I was the one ignoring 
and i woke up with a strong desire to mail him (actually I have needed his help but I chose not to contact him cuz I feared it would break the letting-go rule)
Now I'm seriously thinking of mailing him today!! but I can assure you I don't expect the outcome I just think he could give me at least advice.

Is this me breaking the LoA? or is it what we called inspired action or a 'hey-do-it' sign sent by the Universe?
