Karma stats

Can someone tell me what determines the number that is displayed next to one's karma status on this forum? It appears I have two karma points and I am curious as to why.

To my understanding, karma points are the number of times that your posts were personally affected by someone enough for that person to acknowledge you.

If I like your post enough, I give you a karma point, and how many you have are shown right there.

As you have two karma points, that's two instances when someone gave you props for your post or posts.

I am new to this Laws of Attraction and I count it a blessing to have joined this forum. It has helped me in my own situation to write to others and hopefully I can give some good advice. I have a habit of posting long responses but it is what I feel in my heart and sometimes it takes more than a few paragraphs to express what I feel the creator of the universe is telling me to write. It's funny how when I have a revelation to write about, it is also intended for me to follow my own advice.
