Coping with Dreams

I don't generally dream a whole lot, but last night I had two dreams that have thrown me a bit off kilter today:

1. The first is already kind of hazy. It seems now to have been sort of metaphorical.  I was going down many different streets and getting lost not finding what I was looking for.  I can only imagine now that I was looking for my estranged wife.

2. My estranged wife and I were staying in a hotel, but in separate rooms.  At one point we were on the bed and she surprised me with a long passionate kiss that I returned with gusto, only to have her pull away with tears in her eyes that she felt absolutely nothing. The rest of the time she did her best to avoid me (although at one point her legs were chafed because of some boots she had been wearing and she let me massage and sooth the hurt).

So, my fears are still coming at me, even when I can do nothing to stop them.  How do I cope with this kind of thing?

It's all about your focus. If you sit there and worry about A,B,C. That is what will turn up.  Start thinking and imaging the end result that you want. Watch your language talk and feel it the way you want it to be.

So, the dreams are simply a reminder that I need to work harder at eliminating my blocking behavior?  Being trapped inside my own mind and thinking that I am doing the visioning right makes it hard to realize that I may be doing it wrong and simply misleading myself. Do you have any techniques to employ to insure that you are thinking correctly and not drifting towards negativity and convincing yourself you're not?  Or is this just something that experience will teach me?  Any clues on how to be aware of the messages that the universe is sending you (dreams are pretty clear, as I now see)?

Thanks for all the guidance.
