"Love your self before others can love you"

I have been visualizing having friends and women for a little while now, but I think I am learning that I need to love myself before I can have true relationships with people.  I kind of feel distant from people.  How does one begin to love oneself?  I don't even know if I don't love myself.  I will say that I get self conscious and socially anxious in social situations.  I don't know if that means I don't love myself.  All I want is to have meaningful relationships with people and to have that "vibe" or "aura" so people are attracted to me.  Then again, the only way to have people be attracted to me is to not even care, right?  I have to be okay with myself and happy with me before I can let others into my life.

What should I do?  How can I love myself?  What do I do if I feel lonely?

Do you have a passion???  Like dancing, exercise, singing, acting, biking, volunteering, hiking, photography, travelling??? If you do you can find like minded people in meetup groups... That will help you open up talking about something that you enjoy... That will be a start

If you don't have one yet, find one... See what you would enjoy doing... Join a class... Learn something... That will help you...

Visualizing is certainly very powerful when you understand that thoughts become things. Often individuals will visualize as an act to move them toward their desire which is great. However, if they are not getting emotionally involved in their vision than there is not really any power in the attraction. The best way to generate the emotion is in the details of what you are visualizing. Keep the faith that visualizing will bring about your desire and implement some of the following suggestions if you aren't already using them.

The idea of loving yourself is that you are happy with yourself and don't need anyone or anything to create that happiness. Ultimately we are all after happiness. Everything that we do is to move us toward happiness. By sending the message to the Universe of overall happiness than you will attract circumstances of overall well being on all levels which will make you an attractive person. Having this focus will prevent you from trying to micromanage all of the elements that you are trying to create in your life and allow them to be created all in time. Turn your focus upon happiness and take action on it and your life will change on all fronts. Imagine yourself feeling very good and it doesn't matter what you are thinking about as long as you are feeling good.

For me, consciously choosing your feelings towards the situation is one way of showing love to yourself. When we love others, we only want the best for them. For many years in my life, I was one of those who just let anyone, anything, any situation and events in my life to be unhappy, to feel bad, thus making my vital organs 500% when feelings of hatred, anger, and all other negative feelings consumed me. It was only when LOA came into my life that I realized, I do have a choice, that each and every person, situation and events in my life bring blessings and gifts, I then started to realize that I do have a choice to give myself the best - by being grateful everything that happened in my life

Loving urself is taking care of urself.............is enjoying even if u r alone............like i play guitar coz it gives me happiness n peace..........thats loving myself, if someone is ignoring me, i won't sit back n think oh m i so bad that i m being ignored..........No, i tell myself, i back myself and be among people from whom i get positive vibration like happiness, joy, love and care.......love urself is like loving and taking care of my inner self, like u would love n take care of ur best friend.

Great thread, i am on the path of loving myself.  I am wanting to take care of myself alot better, want to eat better and go to bed when i am tired, not stay up late alot.  I love doing meditation, practising surfing with my friend, relearning my creative side of being arty so do some art classes in learning to draw, next learning to paint.  Sitting by myself near the beach appreciating the beauty and if dolphins and whales pop up then its an awesome day, appreciating the way i look, i am beautiful inside and out (i aint no jessica alba but who cares because i see my beauty) and i do like my body, also getting into yoga (was in a class but dropped out for art class but aiming to get into a new one soon). 

I really hope this is the path of loving yourself and appreciating self.  Now to work on my confidence
