My experience with being happy & effortless weight loss
« on: November 27, 2017, 08:27:30 PM »
Hey, i'm new to this board, but I thought I'd share my experience with weight loss and getting happy.

A few years ago, I moved out of my parents house a few hours away for school. I was living on my own, in school studying a subject that I loved and I lived in probably the most fun city, and had so many amazing adventures.

But I ate so much junk food! Pizza, cookies, cakes, fast food all of the time. My diet was worse than when i lived at home.

Yes i was on somewhat of a budget, But I practically lived off of the cheap food on campus and ate at all hours of the day. I was also often up overnight, or at off times due my class schedule. There was no structure to my diet whatsoever.

Within a few months I had lost 25 lbs! like that. It came off effortlessly.

I couldn't understand it, I barely worked out. I walked on campus, but it was a pretty small school in general.

But here's one thing I noticed : Every time I went back home for break , I gained weight almost rapidly.

Which was confusing, because I wasn't necessarily stuffing myself back home, I was eating practically the same diet.

However, I loved seeing my family I wasn't as happy being back home. I loved being at school, and with my friends and in my favorite city.

So I guess what i'm trying to say is, I really do believe there's some sort of connection with weight loss and being in a happy mindset/environment.

I've been back home for a few years , dealing with my own issues but it seems like I gain weight and have a difficult time losing it. I wonder if its because I am not as happy as i was back then. .  .  Its not impossible to lose weight though -It just takes much more work for me to be happy living back home...

Sorry this post wasn't exactly filled with LOA wisdom, but I hope this testimony helps anyone with this subject...

hmm it does make sense...when we are happy usually we are loving ourselves which brings lots of good stuff into our lives, including liking/accepting the way we look.

However, I loved seeing my family I wasn't as happy being back home. I loved being at school, and with my friends and in my favorite city.

I experienced something similar at some point in my life. Amongst others there is supposed to be a connection between "waiting" and "weight".
See below:

"Metaphysically speaking, energy that is not allowed to flow easily through a person's life becomes stagnant and converts into mass, often manifesting as excess weight in the physical body. When the natural flow is allowed to begin again, that mass converts back into energy and the weight vanishes. So someone that considers themselves to be overweight could ask where in their life they are not allowing energy to flow easily? Where in their life are they blocking the natural flow? Where is the resistance?
That resistance is the wait (blocking of energy flow) that leads to the weight (increase in body mass).
When they're ready to give up the wait, they'll be ready to give up the weight."

I am curious what you say :)

Hey there! I feel you and totally agree with you! I believe our physical bodies are a reflection of the combination of our thoughts, feelings and expectations. It took me three years to finally master the concept. As of today I can eat whatever I want, whenever, in whatever quantities and not gain an inch! But I wasn't always like this. In fact, reaching this state took me a lot of hard work and effort. I started my journey after finally deciding to break free from the chains of neurotic dieting and excessive exercising. I would like to recommend a book by author Patricia Bisch titled FREEDOM FROM FOOD: A Quantum Weight Loss Approach. Her ideas are golden!

I too remember my time in college. I was the happiest girl out there! And yeah, lots of junk food and no weight gain! When I went back home for the holidays even though I love my family I would gain. So I can relate to your story. All I can say is that effortless weight loss and eating whatever/whenever is possible! I now thrive on whatever food I choose to put in my mouth. Like the movie Inception, you must first plant the seed of possibility in your mind and let it grow. The same author I mentioned above has a subliminal cd that you can listen to. I listened to it practically all the time until it became a core belief. Just now we had our late Thanksgiving dinner at the office. I had a double serving of everything and tripled on the sweets! I felt inspired to write this post after realizing how grateful I am of putting all the work and effort on changing my beliefs around food and the body. Never again have I felt guilty of eating stuff conventional "wisdom" says is detrimental to my health. Instead, I choose to eat from a place of joy and gratefulness. I'm also A Course student (ACIM) and truly believe that "Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists". I used to view weight gain as a threat to my existence until I realized I was confused and such threat never existed. I look exactly how I want to look.

I would also advise agains mirrors. Take a break from them! Instead visualize yourself exactly how you want to look. I swear by this exercise.

When I say I do not gain weight I mean maintaining a size 2 figure and no, I do not know how much I weight since I threw that useless piece of junk away forever!

Hope some of the ideas I shared inspire other readers!

@BlackMageLulu

I like that idea, of visualization. I think when it comes to weight loss the more stressed out/ complicated we make things the harder weight loss will be. Even now I try to say things like "The weight will just fall off of me" and it works really well.
