Gratitude journal
« on: April 25, 2016, 02:20:46 PM »
Hi guys
So I have decided to maintain a gratitude journal. But I have a question I don't know how exactly should I write it.
Should I only mention the things I have now and be grateful about it or I should write about the things I want to manifest as well?
Would appreciate a little insight on this!

P.S: I need to stop seeing psychics and astrologers so much and relying on them. I want to believe I make my own destiny and I predict my future! No one else

I'm thankful to be watching my anime, playing my video games and listening to my indie music again.

Can't wait to go back to school and get my life back together again.

I agree with your PS point, after spending money on that myself years ago.  I would avoid.

I have a bit of a problem with being grateful, I prefer to be thankful and/or appreciative - being grateful (to me anyway) implies something that you don't really deserve, can't believe you have got it (I can't believe it!  He looked at ME when he could have anybody!  I got that job when there are better people!) sort of thinking.  But that's just me, it may not work for everyone.

When I have done this (I don't write in a physical journal daily on this, but I do keep a normal journal and will mention things, or alternatively I will simply thank the universe) it's always for what I have not what I might have in the future.  I do occasionally list things in a book, that I am thankful for, but I do some form of it every day.

Again I am not saying that is right or wrong, just how I do things.

Honestly, you can't!  I try to think of 10 things I am grateful for each day and they are often very simple - this is yesterday for example:

1. A new working week with some awful tasks to accomplish but thankful that they are a challenge and I am learning something new
2. A Zumba class and an evening exercise class - thankful I am doing something to lose weight and get fit
3. Buying some spring flowers in the supermarket before the class
4. A guy allowing me to go in front of him so I could get served quicker
5. Having my shopping delivered - cost me 1, negligible as I would have spent more in petrol and time
6. Because of 5. I was able to get organised at home and sit and watch dramas that I wanted to watch
7. A book that I was reading to and from work - so glad I don't have to drive to work any more since I changed jobs and can read on public transport!
8. The storyline of the book - made me remember my own teenage years and the things I did
9. The friend who gave me the book in the first place has been amazing for years
10. Sorting through some old magazines in an attempt to be more organised - I found some really good articles that can support stuff I am doing now

So nothing major, but simple examples that are from everyday experience.

  • Erana: I think the person was just finding random reasons to be angry and rant, since nothing they said made any sense. First they make a post seemingly offended at what others think of Jesus, but upon trying to have a conversation about it they claimed they didn’t care about Jesus. That’s when I gave up. Anyway, I am going to pretend this ‘episode’ never happened, lest we attract them back  ;)

  • siamesegirl: There's no wonder threads get deleted if people go around ranting and calling others retards. I wonder if they go around doing this in real life? For what it's worth I'm not a fan of Abraham Hicks as channelling is difficult for me to believe in. I do agree some of their stuff has value for example the emotional guidance scale. But blamed some law of attraction teacher for what someone chose to do themselves is passing the buck. Over the last few months I've seen several posters disappear because they can't follow basic forum guidelines.

  • siamesegirl: Scarlt7 I read your messages. As they're not there anymore I can't refer to them but I recall they came across as a rant rather than a question or a discussion. Perhaps if you'd made a post in the relevant section of the forum as a proper discussion you may have received some comments and feedback. I don't think you expressed your opinion clearly at all

  • RollingRock33: @Magneta. I completely disagree. Being compassionate toward those who are undeserving shows kindness on our part, and therefore not only brings our energy higher, and attracts better things toward us, but also makes a difference in their lives, and brings them happiness and things to be grateful for. No offense, but what you said is really childish and unkind, and also causes greater blocks in our own energy; selfishness.
