I want to be able to let go of this fear of failure, I'm trying so hard to stay focused in school and work. and maintaining that positive mindset and attitude, yet I STILL have that fear of failing tests, and my classes. What can I do to improve this? any advice ?

would surround myself with other people who can be a positive influence on you at school. In university I spent much of my time getting ready for exams with other friends in the class; we would joke around and bring the stress levels down while pushing each other to be successful. Not only did it make it more enjoyable but it was also a competition between us who will get a better mark.

I think you need something like that in your life to help motivate you, since I think that is the real issue here. Once you are motivated, you will not only be more confident but actually be more willing to study and put effort in.

End result is a 4 out of 4 GPA in College and graduating university a year ahead of my class. So I guess there is proof it works.

Well my focus was always what I was going to do after I finished school, so I used that as motivation to get me past these endless tests.

What is your plan after graduation? Gonna have a fancy job, nice house and car? Think about this stuff for a while and come back to reading again, trust me it works.

Focusing your attention on something the is present can help your mind to calm down. When you mind calms down you become detached to issues, this in turns leads to being happy, which puts you in the right "vibration" for things you disire.

words of warning though. you MUST be detached from the detachment as well.

What I mean is, you say your having trouble focusing, why are you having trouble? your most likely having trouble because you are RESISTING.

the act of focusing your attention on something (aka mindfullness or meditation) should be done for it's own sake.

lets say for example, your having the same problem most people have when trying to focus, your attention keeps going back to the thing your trying to ignore, (thoughts, feelings, pain etc)

the Key phrase in that statment is your "TRYING" to ignor something, your resisting it. the best way is to 'allow' it.

You see your mind/body are designed to feel/think, focusing is not trying to stop thought or feeling wether they are good or bad.

it is to SURPASS them! to ACCEPT them! That is the purpose.

Insted of trying to put your focus on something to "try" to "ignore" the fears of failure.  which is another way of putting more attetnion on it.

Accept the fact that you are afraid to fail, accept the fact that you have those feelings and they are normal
