Honest question about fear
« on: August 12, 2017, 11:03:43 PM »
Hi to all!
Can the excessive fear of the death of a loved one manifest into their literal death? I ask this because sometimes I get caught in a kind of OCD fear that my loved ones will die due to the violence out there.
I know that fear is a very powerful negative emotion, and the things you fear the most tend to happen. So, would confronting the fear help to change the vibration into a more positive one?

I believe that it can, yes. I learned recently that a couple of my family members "always thought" something bad (violent) was going to happen to one of my siblings since he was a young boy, they worried about him a lot and when he was a teenager that's exactly what happened...something very violent.

I also saw a video recently of a guy who was left paralysed from the neck down and he made a comment in passing that he always thought something like that was going to happen to him. Changing your vibration to a more positive one will always help, yes, but also try to take your focus off your fears and keep at it...persist and it'll get easier to not think about them.

If you're not already meditating I'd suggest you to do so. Especially metta meditation, as it involves wishing the good for your loved ones.

Thank you for the input! I begun meditating less than one month ago, and the differences have been noticeable in my mental clarity. Never heard about Metta meditation though, but will surely take a look.
Something that I should've said though, is that I don't have this intense fear all the time. It hits me after certain episodes and it usually lasts 3 to 5 days. Last time was because of a traffic incident with a motorcycle guy. So I think that I'm not constantly radiating these vibrations, but it is still something to be aware of.
