Why gratitude?
« on: June 07, 2012, 07:26:25 AM »
I understand why gratitude is necessary for things in the past, so you'll see that the LoA has worked and to analyse how it's all happened. But I don't understand how you can subconsciously be grateful for something that's not happened yet. I find the idea a bit cringe worthy to immediately thank the Universe for letting it happen when it hasn't even happened yet.

It's like at the end of a letter when you say "Thank you in advance", I find that easier to understand because you're thanking the recipient in the future for reading it and taking possible action upon your letter. In a letter you don't say "Thanks for delivering my baby", but thanking them if they can deliver your baby. I know it's a crap example and you wouldn't say that anyway even if it was the right thing to do, but I just find it hard not to think the idea is a little cheesy, I'm also in no way religious so God is out of the equation.

So other than being appreciative over the good things that have happened in the past, why am thanking it without reason?

Hi Jono,

It is ok to be confused... Even I got it after a long time... Right now it is ingrained as a belief in my mind...

I will encourage you to first read these two links and see if it makes sense and answers your question

I read the first link you gave but the second one resulted in a 404 error. The first article was very hard to swallow but it does make sense, so having gratitude is for knowing that what you desire already exists and it's by changing your thought pattern that you can have the experience. I understand now, I gave you a Thank You for that post, opened my eyes a little bit. :)

So, for instance, I want to move out but I have a lot of things to get sorted first, learning how to be more organised and how to cook and how to get enough money. But, it's not about working how to do these things in the world, but by changing my own reality to one where I already know how to cook, am more organised, and have the ability to get a job easily so moving out will be easy. Is that right?

That was a really long read.  :)

But useful, I was recommended to look at Bashar's stuff a few weeks ago but I never got round to it, but I'm glad I got pointed towards him again, very in-depth stuff. I think I have something to go on now

Jono,

I am glad you have a better idea...  :)

The main idea is to be Happy and have FAITH that no matter what you will be Happy as GOD is taking care of you... Everything that you wish for WIIL be given to you...  When you are happy you are in the VORTEX and all things that you Want come to you

Abraham: GETTING INTO THE VORTEX: THE BIG ONE - Esther & Jerry Hicks

Its all about EXPANSION of our Spiritual Self... Expanding yourself into a better person, into a better life...Expanding your FAITH

But with Great Power comes Great Responsibility... In your example I wouldn't sit around and expect things to happen...

I would Be very excited for the POSSIBILITIES ahead... I would start making a list of things that need to be done... I would get rid of clutter... Start thinking how things can get organized... Look up recipes and start learning cooking... Make plans for moving out.. Start packing... Look for apartments... And when you reach that stage you will be in a very high vibration as you are RECEIVING everything that you wanted... And then the perfect job will come to you... The perfect apartment will come to you

Make a list of the things you want in your job... Also your apartment... That will make your mind clear to what you want...

Be GRATEFUL for what you have... Be HAPPY no matter what... Accept your current situation no matter what and be HAPPY with it... PRAY!!!

Another book to boggle your mind with http://www.humanitysteam.ru/lib/Conversation%20with%20God,%20book%201.pdf  ;D

Hope that helps...  :D :D :D

GOD BLESS,
NS
