@Apple: Aw, don't thank me! Thank the really cool guy who wrote this! haha But I'm really glad that I was able to show everyone this article. Its really helped put things in perspective for me too. I would go through ecstasy and then down to the pits of depression and be like, "Is this really how its supposed to be?? Why can't I be happy 24/7????" But then I read this and it all makes 200% sense. So many things in my life have come to me when I'm just in a neutral-state.

Just this morning I was waiting for the metro and it was taking forever for some reason. I was carrying a really heavy backpack and it was starting to get to me. I thought about taking the bag off and just setting it on the ground and then I said to myself, "I bet the second I start to relax the metro will come and I'll have to get on board." I didn't really care if that happened or not, I just thought it. So, unable to bare carrying all that weight on my back I finally gave in. I set the bag on the ground, started stretching and....there was the metro.  :P

I guess that's the same as when they say as soon 'as you light up a cigarette the bus comes..' not that I'm a smoker, but I've heard that said a hundred times.

Moscowlrv: Thank you so much for sharing this article! The explanation about the highs and lows helped a lot, and I don't have to worry about feeling like "blah" on some days. Without the extreme highs, I also found that there are fewer times when I drop down to the polar opposite, the extreme low. Despite the occasional blues, I am maintaining a good streak of being happy that's around my "normal". :)

I think I'm at this stage right now. As in, I stated many things that I want to manifest, but now I could care less. If I get them, I will be very happy and grateful, don't get me wrong, but if I don't, I'm still happy. :) For example, I wanted to pass my road test yesterday and get my driver's license. I failed the test twice before, but I was doing a lot of positive visualizing and I saw so many signs that I would get it (without asking for them), etc. I felt confident and.. I failed the test. At first I was devastated.. for about an hour. Now I'm like oh well, I'll try again. If I pass this time, hooray, if not, whatever. :)

Is this a good thing though? I feel like this is beyond nonchalance, but I'm hoping this is me finally detaching from all that I want!

Funny you should share this. i was just reading something on the Abraham Hicks Fb page that said that we are always in vibrational alignment with what we want. Being too excited or too sad equally bring us out of alignment. Meaning we don't have to pump ourselves up in order to get our desired results, just be content.

SOoOoOooooo true!
I was 'trying' to get a part time job in LA for  two years, to substitute my singing career -
I would go to the interview all pumped up and over excited and confident and bubbly and reeeeeaally wanting the job.....
I was baffled as to why I wasn't getting one!
THEN, recently, I went to an interview and I TRULY thought, I don't really care, I can take it or leave it, I'll be fine either way....I was relaxed and friendly and chilled out and they called me the NEXT day and hired me.
Two weeks later I quit because I hated it (hahaa)
I was walking past a cool cafe the other day that has two recording studios upstairs and lots of musicians and producers come in all the time (good networking!)
I asked if they were hiring and they said not at the moment.
A couple of weeks later I thought, I'm just gonna run in again and see if they need someone now! ...knowing they didn't, so not really caring but I felt like taking 'inspired action!".... again, they said they're not looking- then after chatting with the manager for a few minutes, he said "Actually, maybe you could work the days I don't want to"- and he gave me a JOB!
    :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Wow! Awesome Pinkypink!! Congrats. Inspired action + relaxed attitude = success.  :D
I really love this thread because I think it is crucial to the process of allowing.

Funny you should share this. I was just reading something on the Abraham Hicks Fb page that said that we are always in vibrational alignment with what we want. Being too excited or too sad equally bring us out of alignment. Meaning we don't have to pump ourselves up in order to get our desired results, just be content.

Have you got the link to this beautifuldreamer?
Last year I did a series of courses about the universe and how it works and how to use that Universal Laws to live the life you want.

A very important law is the Law of Duality. That everything (in the physical world) has an opposite- happy sad, good bad , etc. This law tell us that no matter what the situation, nothing is all good or all bad. Our human brains just perceive it that way. Connecting with the good and bad at the same time and colapsing these polarities in on themselves is the middle way/God/enlightenment experience (this has happened to me and it is life changing) ... but anyway...

Sometimes when we want something we see it as all good- this is a lopsided perception what ever it is- there will be a downside to having that thing I absolutely guarentee it. Now when we can't see the downside we put the thing/relationship, or whatever, on a pedestal and get very excited about the idea of it.. This excitement pushes our desire from us.. If you can sit and find what the bad side is to what you want, what you will sacrifice or lose by having it, it becomes a balanced perception and therefore part of your real experience. It isn't held apart from you. You will then remain in a calm state about the idea of having it because you realise it is good AND bad, just like everything else... you just decide that the good  is worth the bad that comes with it.. Am I making sense?? hahaha I hope so.

Once you take your desire off the pedestal and into the realm of reality it can manifest in yours!  :D

@simplyjess: Aw you're welcome! This has helped me too. Whenever I need to be reminded about how to put things into perspective, this always hits it right back home. And I'm so glad you're maintaining that 'normal' mode!

@tina_attract: I think truelove is absolutely correct. I think you're in the right state of mind. You probably had to get through that moment of disappointment to release those negative feelings. But now that you're in the non-caring state I think that's a really, really good thing. Don't worry about driving tests and failing them! Sometimes, it all comes down to the driving tester you've got in the car with you. Some can be more particular about tiny, insignificant rules than others. I failed my driving test the first time I went around too. I got everything perfect, and then at the last second when we parked I accidentally hit the curb, and the tester said I could no longer pass. XD But the second time around, I did really well, and the tester was more focused on how well I drove instead of one accidental curb bump! You can do it, tina_attract! You've already got that license in your hands!

@Daniela: I'm so glad that I shared this now! haha I was so unsure people would find it interesting, but I'm glad they did. And yes! That blog is really full of a lot of information. A lot of it is quite wordy, but also REALLY helpful.

@beautifuldreamer: Woah! Well that's just awesome! Actually, feeling normal feels a lot more "whole" than trying to be excited ALL THE TIME. I really like this idea! Thanks for sharing!

@PinkyPink! Congratulations!!! What a great success! And a serious testament to how much a difference it makes when we stop putting things on the pedestal of perfection! Fantastic!

@truelove: I could not have written better myself! I really love this. I agree full heartedly. Its true, sometimes we visualize things, and we think that once this ONE, AMAZING THING manifests, then it will all be gum drops and rainbows for the rest of our lives. As nice as that would be, it isn't true. There needs to be contrast as you said! And nothing is completely good nor is it completely bad.  I guess its kind of like how some people say, "I can manifest small things but I have trouble manifesting big things..." But... in reality nothing is really that big. Every thing is actually quite a small deal. All manifestations are the same, its just we're attached to some more than others.

And that's why I think detachment/non-attachment works so well for people, because they've just gotten to that state where they see everything as ordinary.

You are so right on the hammer with this one, truelove!

This is an extract from the Secret daily teachings I receive regularly.  It is very similar to what this thread is all about.  Makes a lot of sense to me.

A Secret Scrolls message from Rhonda Byrne
Creator of The Secret

From The Secret Daily Teachings

You cannot bring what you want to you if you are feeling stress. Stress or any tension at all is something you have to remove from your system.
You must let the stress go - it is the only way you can bring what you want. The emotion of stress is saying strongly that you do NOT have what you want. Stress or tension is the absence of faith, and so to remove it all you have to do is increase your faith!

May the joy be with you,

Maybe I just didn't understand this article, but it doesn't click with me at all. I've had many things manifest in real life that brought me much elation and excitement. I love witnessing the wonderful ways in which the universe delivers my desires and feeling that sense of wow, I would never have thought it would happen like this. Isn't that the reason we try to manifest our goals and dreams in the first place? If everything always felt the same level of "ordinary" where's the motivation to achieve or experience anything new at all?

If you are successful with manifesting your goals and desire, don't stop what you are doing.  At the end of the day, it is all about your vibrational level IMHO.  Like the saying goes: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

I agree.....if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I think they are more refering to trying to manifest something, not after it has manifested. Of course our desires bring us joy and excitement when they have manifested. But I think the article is more or less saying, if we are too excited when trying to manifest something, we are probably putting some attatchment to that desire. But if we are very nonchalant about it then we are less resistant.
