When visualizing, you are creating the image of the desired outcome in your mind. You have to visualize this image in vivid detail, as it has happened already, not doubting it, not trying to rationalize it, also not only "seeing" it, but also feeling it.
In my opinion visualizing is mostly about creating the feeling, the feeling being the one affecting the reality.

Thank you!
How often do you have to do it? And if I'm feeling down or use is it eat to avoid doing it incase I attract the opposite?!

Don`t know how often it should be done. There is no rule, I guess you can do it as often as it feels good, not in order to make something happen, just to get the vibe of the wish fullfilled. Some people visualize just once, then forget and only remember about it when the manifestation occurs. :D

I use to visualize several times per day, it puts me in a good mood and of course, it is helping me focus on what I want, not the opposite.

If you`re feeling down, my advice is not to concentrate on this feeling (like attracts like, so if you concentrate on the fact that you`re miserable, or that you will attract the opposite, this is what you will attract), just try to focus on thinking how would it be like living the wish fullfilled, get the feeling of living it now, at the present moment and try to maintain it, even after you`re done visualizing.

Hope this helps somehow.

The great thing about visualization is that you become better over time. So even if you feel strange at first it becomes easier. From my experience 2 things matter most about visualization:

1) Involving all 5 senses
2) Feeling the emotion

When you visualize try and get a sense of sound, smell, taste and touch as well as the vision. That way it will feel more real. But the most important thing is to amplify the feelings. Imagine how great it will feel. Sample emotions you might feel would be: joy, bliss, excitement, calmness, relief, happiness, pride, dignity etc.

i know when i visualoize i can feel what im visualizing .. like it is in my hands.. and i feel the emotion i wld have as if i have it as if it is there with me .. i have gotten better with practice and i do it usually once at night b4 bed .and sometimes i do the cosmic telepathy while laying in the tanning bed 3-4 times a week ..lol .. i also do remote seduction  a few times a week  but i almost always fall asleep but i was told that was good because if u r still thinking abt your desire when u fa;l asleep it is suppossed to have  more power .. dont know .. just what i have read. sometimes if im feeling down i have a harder time .. then i dont force it ... but u can do it anytime u want if it makes u feel good ... DO IT!

There is no rule to how long or how many times you should visualize during the day. I would say around 15 mins twice a day is fine. The whole point of visualization is for you to reach a higher vibration, as well as create your reality. If you visualize yourself in a nice big house, successful business etc. you will eventually create that as your reality. A tip I can give you is to get detailed when you are creating this reality for yourself. An example would be if you are visualizing a new house, how big is the house? What colour? How many rooms, how many bedrooms, hardwood or carpet? Do you see what I mean. You must create a clear and detailed picture of what you want. Get excited about it! I totally agree with the other posts. If you arent really "feeling" when you are visualizing, you are not being as effective as you can, you must feel it.

The reason why I don't recommend going over 30 minutes at a time is because, if you are just starting out, you can have a tendency to "lose yourself" and just starting living in the future. And forgetting about the "now" . That is a common mistake. Because living in the now, is what creates your immediate reality, it is how you can reach higher and higher vibration levels.
Thinking about what you want, increases you vibration, which can cause a new awareness, new and better thoughts to enter your mind, which cause even a higher vibration. The higher vibration , the more you are connected to yourself, which means the more connected you are to Source. And that is a very, very good thing :)

You day dream, right?

Visualizations are day dreaming with intention.

The point of visualization is that you convince your subconscious mind that you really want the thing or outcome.  Visualization seems to be the language that your infinitely powerful subconscious mind understands best.

I agree with what everyone else on here said.  It's like day-dreaming, just picturing and feeling in detail the scenario you want.
For example, I was imagining a conversation I was having with a good friend, what I was saying to him, what he would say back, etc.  I ended up going to the movies with him the other day and we had that same conversation I had been imagining for a few weeks now.  So I definitely believe you can/will manifest what you visualize.  (Actually I had stopped thinking about the conversation with my friend for a few days before it happened, so detaching is important.  I knew I really wanted to talk to him, but I just didn't bother myself with when I would see him next, and that's when it came).

I use the visualizations currently to imaging my ex and I in a new, loving relationship.  Conversations we have, things we will see and do, etc.  And like others said, really try to focus on how it feels.  So I tell myself, this feels wonderful, amazing, loving, perfect, etc.  It really helps me when I am feeling down since the visualizing helps me to switch from negative emotions (from dwelling on the past breakup, obsessing over him, etc.) to positive emotions (just feeling as if we are together and that's it).

I've only just seen all of your replies sorry!
Thank you I will start practicing doing this properly I think haha.

In particular, Dr Scully, I wanted to ask you how you are able to stop dwelling on the past and then breakup with your ex as I'm in the situation, and find it quite hard at the moment to try and imagine things without becoming sad that its not like that now!

Thanks!

I cant speak for Scully, but i think she like many of us just got to that point after a long time. Its hard, but over time you are able to look at the situation from another point of view and start to let go of the negative feelings.

It takes time, no other real way of doing it. Breakup's are like anything else you lose in your life, you need to heal and grieve, all takes time.

@Natsie:
Stefzilla is right, time helped more than anything.  I cried a lot.  I didn't eat.  There were days I literally didn't get out of bed or eat anything all day.  I wrote letters to him explaining how I felt in a journal and did remote seduction often.  It helps to get the emotions out.

Right now I think I'm a bit mad at him still too (I'm working on this and detaching more).  But I just keep reminding myself that the old relationship had to die before we can start a new one.  You wouldn't want to be in the old relationship anyways, right?  That one didn't work out so well.  So why the heck would you want that back?  You need a new one, whether it's with your ex or not.

When you find yourself dwelling on the breakup, what happened/what was said, etc.  Just say "cancel" or "stop" to yourself to stop thinking those things.  They're in the past now.  You couldn't have changed anything or done anything differently.  Everything happens for a reason (we don't know what that reason is right now), but there is a reason.  Maybe it's for you to meet someone incredible.  Maybe it's for our exes to grow up and commit and realize that they had something great.

Don't visualize if it makes you sad.  You should instead visualize a new relationship with him, things you will say and do, places you will go, and it should make you feel happy and loved. Just try to hold onto that feeling of being happy and in love, which is the whole point to visualizing (to be more happy than sad, and thus raise your vibration).

But I think I should have b/c supporting others in a great way to grow in using LoA positively in your life!
