Universe as God vs. Universe as Energy
« on: June 21, 2011, 12:20:07 AM »
Hi! I posted this in another board, but I would like to read your 2 cents too. It made me think.  ;D

I've been reading some threads and I'm getting really confused about something. There seems to exist some conflicting theories around here (yeah, as in everything else in the world :P).

Some say that if we don't get what we intend to, it's because the Universe thinks there's something better out there for us. Others say that the Universe isn't good, bad, funny, etc.. It isn't some kind of God, turning your wishes into reality. It is pure energy, that we can change with our own.

This looks like a conflict, for me. If the Universe really is just energy and has no opinion, but only responds in terms of vibration and energy, we can't just justify that like some members around here do, saying that there is something better in line. Right?

Or, if the Universe actually is like a conscious being, then our energy, the work we put in manifesting really doesn't matter (except for putting and intention out there, of course), because we can do it and the Universe may think it isn't right and not deliver. Therefore, it isn't about vibration or energy... At least not in the way we are interpreting it.

Either way, I believe in the power of creation. However, I just wanted to understand if there are limitations (imposed by the Universe) or if that justification is only a way of coping with the un-manifestation of desires.

What confuses me is contradictory statements, like:
a) "If something didn't manifest it's because the Universe thinks you deserve something else and better".
b) "If something didn't manifest it's because you didn't really align with your desire".

So, which statement would be correct? Because the first one gives some of the power to the Universe as a separate entity who gets to decide what's best for you (oversimplifying, of course), while the second one gives all of the power to the individual, stating one only has to intend and receive because one is the ultimate creator.

What do you all think?

Hi Rainbow,

I have been taught that we, and only we, shape our world.  So far this has proven true for me.  Believing that outside influences control our world appears to be a misconception that limits a lot of people.  It is in fact the belief that has allowed religions and governments to rule over the masses since the dawn of man.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

LOA teachings go along with option "B"

I understand this as I sometimes move back and forth between the 2...one belief being more passive (where God decides) vs. us taking a more active.  The more active role (aligning ourselves) may make us stronger.  Believe me, I know how hard that can be at times.  My personal belief is that God wants to see our faith all over therefore He watches as we align, etc.  Very interesting and comforting to me.

Universe doesnt understand what is good or bad for us
but we understand what is good or bad for us
that is why we always asked to remove limiting beliefs.
if things didnt manifest, it's because probably deep down inside we dont really want A .. but we want B .. that's why B shows up ... that is my two cents :)

This is a very deep question.
You have to bear in mind a few principles to really understand what is going on. The fact is, that from our very limited viewpoint it is difficult to see the whole picture, but this is an interesting subject (well, I thinks so).

The first principle is that when we speak of the “Universe” or “God” we are really referring to the same thing. Someone coined the phrase “the Universe” a long time ago simply to avoid any religious connotations – many people switch off when you start talking about God, but they find the concept of the “Universe” acceptable.

The second principle is that we, all of us, are the Universe (or God). We are as much a part of it as the sun and stars. We literally share the particles that our bodies are made of with the planets and stars. Any quantum physicist will tell you that the sub-atomic particles which make up all the matter in the universe move from one place to another all the time. A particle can be part of a star one moment, a part of your body the next, and then a part of the moon, etc. They keep on moving around.

The third principle is that these particles are not physical matter at all, they are pure energy (physicists call them “strings”). These strings all vibrate at different frequencies and in different patterns. Particles of the same vibrational pattern come together into 'clumps', thus forming what we call matter. But there is really no such thing as solid matter - anything you can see or touch is just a massive collection of tiny bits of energy all vibrating in the same manner and all clumped together to give the illusion of solid matter. What is more, those bits of energy switch places all the time, as I've just mentioned.

The point of all this is that there is no separate “universe” - we are it!

So, ultimately, there is no separate being that decides what is good for us. We decide what we want to experience, and, because a vibration will attract like vibrations, we attract what we ask for or 'intend'.
This is not an east concept to grasp – it is much easier to assume that the Universe (God) is something separate and outside of ourselves, and who, hopefully, looks down on us benevolently, giving us what is good for us. And remember, our concept of God comes from writers and thinkers thousands of years ago who didn't have the insights to really understand, and described what they thought of as God in the language of their day. It is their best attempt to describe the world as they saw it then. And so we grow up being taught that God is a separate being.

We say that God loves us and will look after us – and this is true if we love ourselves, because we are part of God – it is we who are doing the loving. We say that God loves us because we are his children, and, in a sense, we are because we are part of Him– just like our children are a part of us.
But, our children are separate from us (or rather, they seem to be separate from us just as other people seem separate from us) but they are not really, and we are not really separate from God/the Universe – we are literally part of Him.
That's why it is so important to love ourselves.

So, when our desires are granted, it is we who do the granting, not some separate being.
Some people do get something better than they asked for (this happens quite frequently), and so, when someone doesn't get what they asked for, some people do say that it means they will get something better, and assume that this is because the “Universe” knows what is good for us.
It doesn't. It can only respond to our thoughts (vibrations).

People get something better because, deep inside, that is what they really wanted. For example, a person might want a new car. He thinks he might be able to manifest a Ford, and asks for that, but deep down, he really wants a Ferrari. So, while he asks for a new Ford, he secretly imagines driving a Ferrari. As long as he doesn't strongly feel he cannot get, or is not worthy of, a Ferrari, he may well end up manifesting one, because it is the Ferrari that generates feelings of excitement and joy at the thought of having one, whereas having a Ford is a bit more mundane and doesn't generate those feelings (sorry, nothing against Fords).
He may then think that the Universe knew what was best for him, but really, all that happened was that the Universe responded to his real, and excited, desire for a Ferrari rather than the weaker desire for a Ford.

I hope this explains things a bit. I know it is a difficult area – it is difficult to grasp something that is so different from what we were taught as children.

By the way, when I ask for something, I always add the words “this or something better”.

Peace and love,

Edge.

I understand it like this >> First there was one particle ( well not exactly but i think this will be the best representation) This particle has no mass and can move at infinite speed. It is not aware of its self so it starts to move and interact with it self creating existence and all there is. So everything is made from this one particle, the difference is the frequency that the different things operate on. All living things are nothing but a point of view. Thus every part is a part of the universe every thing is the creator itself every thing is made in the image of the infinite, the creator, god etc.
