Hello to anyone who reads this! (Get comfortable, it might take a while)
I have recently started (again) re awakening my own personal understanding of the LOA and how to apply it. Suffice to say I must have visited about 100 web sites over the last few days and done a lot of reading. I have found myself encountering some friends and have shared some of this with them. I figure that if I push the universe with positive energy it will push back with the same. I intend pushing as hard and as often as I can.
What I was after was the book of all books, the one that encompasses everything. I have not yet found it but the search continues.
Im on a roll now and this is how I intend getting what it is I desire in my life (also having done a little bit of research I guess I could consider myself like a self proclaimed zen super master of all this, and as we used to say in boarding school when letting go of some gas, Sharing is Caring)
Oh ya, before anyone climbs onto their soap box, I dont claim to have developed any of these theories and insights, many of, if not all of them I did not invent, they are my own interpretations and thoughts based on a few weeks research of reading whats out there. These statements are not intended to cure any disease or illness and have not been approved by the FDA, USAID, USAF, UNICEF, the UN, the G8, the G5, Live Aid, the UNDP or Greenpeace.
What is it
Getting an understanding of the law of attraction. I read a few of the "Abraham Hicks" publications and they were extremely useful. I watched "The Secret", "what the bleep - down the rabbit hole" and a few other articles I found online. I also was reminded about a book I read a while ago (in fact two books) by Paolo Cohelo - "The Alchemist" and "11 Minutes" The take home message of The Alchemist is that "the universe will conspire with - or against you to make your dreams come true" and the take home message of "Eleven Minutes" was "choice and consequence"
How to do it
What I wanted was an instructional guide on exactly what to do, when to do it and how to do it. There are so many instructional guides out there, so many perceptions, beliefs and perspectives, each promising Nirvana, Enlightenment and guarantees to all you desire. The thing is that no one can guarantee anything to someone else.
So I took those insights that resonated with me, and I came up with my own way. I will unpack this later.
Understand it, really understand it
So, we know what it is, we have a basic understanding of it, sexy phrases like quantum mechanics, manifest, attract - all sound good, and we do some exercises to try and make it happen. But maybe it takes a while or doesnt happen at all, and we end up saying "nope - doesnt work" and we let it go to move on to the next big fad that promises instant gratification. And thats just it, instant gratification.
How many gurus are out there selling their own formula for success and the LOA? Yes, they are SELLING it. Its not there to be owned, but shared with everyone. But thats a whole separate discussion. We look for INSTANT GRATIFICATION. Thats not an ideal way to start. I think you need to be serious about it. Look long term. Believe short term. Its a process people!!
Bottom line, thoughts are electrical impulses, which are energy. Now energy cannot be created or destroyed, it is transferred from one form to another. You think - therefore you are radiating energy.
Next, Newton took a bite out of his juicy red apple and said that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. So your thoughts (energy) are radiated out, there MUST therefore be something "radiated" back.
Right, now, we want positive things, so we should radiate positive energy all the time. Whatever!! This was my first obstacle (and still is a challenge). What if we cant? We feel guilty that we are not sending out the right stuff, we ONLY want to send out the right stuff cause we want what we want and we want it NOW! :o So it becomes a viscious circle of wanting to think positively, not thinking positively, feeling bad about it, and managing to send out at least SOME happy thoughts. Oh Dear
What to do.... What do we do??
Dude, its ok to feel doubt, fear, anxiety, anger or whatever. I think its what you do with it that matters. Then I found the Sedona Method. Its a way (not the only way, but one I found) of releasing unwanted thoughts and feelings. Now, so what? We want to think and intend of being gazillionaires, but when we do, we think - like thats ever going to happen :-\
So, using whichever method works for you, you release that unwanted feeling. The thing is, what happens? You feel good that you have released it. THEN you go back to the thought of being a gazillionaire. Have positive thoughts and emotions about it. But then you feel more doubt? Do it again, and again and again. Eventually we get to a place where our positive thoughts and beliefs are stronger than the negative ones. Security and confidence outweigh insecurity and doubt.
The LOA says that whatever your mind thinks most about will manifest in your life. Its a process. If it was overnight I probably wouldnt be writing this but on my 200 foot yacht with my super model fiance sipping tequila with my rock star friends with my new Aston Martin in the garage of my new dream home.
Its about PRACTICE, the more you do it, the better you get at it, the better it works. Did Usain Bolt run a 9 second 100meter on his first ever try? How many years of PRACTICE did that take. Im not saying it will take years to get the LOA to work for you, he could only run a few hours a day. How many hours a day could we practice thinking?
The take home message is that if we send out positive messages as well as DOUBT, thats what we will get back. I think I even read that one could cancel out the other, so what do we get back?
The second take home message I read about was that there are barriers to allowing ourselves to get what it is that we want. We should find a way to break that barrier down. Like in the Sedona Method, or whichever release method you choose, thats about getting rid of unwanted emotions because they send out conflicting messages to the universe. (By the way, the universe is the most compliant of all things, it gives you back exactly what you ask it for)
So, we have been programmed for our entire lives into certain belief systems which me MAY need to re model, change or just get rid of. Ask yourself what your belief systems are and are they congruent with what you want? (First make sure what it is you are asking for - more about that later)
In my (humble) opinion understanding the barriers to the LOA are as important as understanding the LOA itself. Im not saying claim them and live them, Im saying KNOW them, become their friend and send them happily on their way. Close the door gently behind them and then open the floodgates to the universe.

Here are some of my EX barriers
In 1260 I was (astonished to learn) in the military and renounced wealth, marriage, privelage etc in favour of service, hardship and the occasional bloodbath. Maybe a bit "out there", but I broke those vows with a smile on my dial.
I grew up feeling unloved and unworthy of being loved
In the past few years I have got so used to being on the financial limit every month it became all I knew how to do
Ok, so with all the happy thoughts I could muster, I was fighting against YEARS, maybe LIFETIMES of barriers.
What am I doing about it.
I have my intention and I hold it in my heart for the universe. If I feel any feeling that is not congruent with my intention, I dont panic, I experience that feeling, gently let it go, feel good about that, feel the relief and then go back to my intent with the universe.
Just remembered something I thought about the universe. Its not your parent, friend, sibling or lover, It doesnt judge you, it doesnt wait for you to make a mistake so it can punish you with bad experiences. Think of it as a mirror, it reflects back to you what you send it. Stand in front of a mirror, what do you see, an angry judge? No, you see you. And you are a product of your thoughts and their corresponding emotions, reflected back at you by the mirror. Want to be more beatiful? Change whats standing in front of the mirror, or at least your attitude to whats standing in front of the mirror.
True Story - The girl I was broken hearted about last week is now a fond memory and I am at least 35.7% Less broken hearted. (to be a purist, I would say I am 37.5% more WHOLE Hearted) What I have now is a clearer picture of the girl I am spending the rest of my life with.
Ok, so what do we want, and be careful here, be sure....
True Story - I went to see a spiritualist for answers, ok I went to a few! hehe After the 4th visit I realised that I might have been using her as a crutch and wanting her to solve my issues for me. Why? cause maybe I was too afraid to do it myself. Uh Oh, wasnt that a little fear emotion? Insidious little things arent they, they creep in everywhere. Chill, dont panic, let it go.... ;)
I took my vision page with me of my ideal relationship. It said that I wanted to connect with her on 4 levels, Mentally, Motionally, Spiritually and Physically. Ok so physically was actually number 1. Moving on. So she asked me some questions: What colour hair does she have? I said I dont care, I just want the 4 levels. She said, so you like all hair colours? I said no, I dont like xxxx colour. Oooohh she said, but what if you still connect?
Then she said, what about her intellect, what if your ideal mate is not too bright, would that work for you? Um, no.
What about her family, do they like you? Do you like them? You get all 4 levels but you clash like hell with the in laws. Um, good point.
And interests? Do you like Opera? No. Does she? Um, I hope not.
Is she successful? Spend 18 hours a day at work and the rest asleep. How bout that. Um, that wouldnt work for me I dont think.
Anyhoo she sent me along on my merry way with some homework.
I now have a vision BOOK. hahaha.

Will I be wise, prudent and responsible with it? (at this point the yacht vanished, the super model girlfriend remained, the rock stars were shown the door, the Aston remained, helping my family and friends suddenly appeared, using my wealth to create more wealth also made a guest appearance, followed shortly by its friends; investing wisely and treating my wealth with humility, respect and gratitude)
The Love Part
What does she look like
Where is she now (Siberia may be a little far)
What are her values ( a s**t hot stripper / porn star polygamist in amsterdam might not work for me)
What are her interests (refer to Opera above)
Family and friends and my relationship with them
How do we communicate
Our interests ( I might like rock, she might like, um Opera?)
Our relationship
Sex
Belief systems
The Work Part
What is my business about?
What do I like doing
How much money am I going to make
What kind of clients do I want?
What kind of staff do I want
How do we do business
Whats our growth plan
Cool, progress.
Now what.
The WORDING of the request, the thoughts and my vision book. The inter web is awash with information, so here is what I found that works for me.
This bit is pretty simple:
You could say, I AM sad - that means your sadness defines who you are - it owns you.
OR you could say - I FEEL sad - YOU define sadness. Now you DEFINE it, show it the door
You could say, I want to be rich - apparently the universe (being the compliant universe it is) will respond by giving you what? MORE WANT
OR you could say, I am, and allow myself to be financially wealthy.
You could say, I want a super hot girlfriend, lets face it, who doesnt. (ps, Im a guy, for the ladies, replace girlfriend with boyfriend)
OR you could say, I am in an amazing, mutually loving relationship with a woman who is beautiful in every respect to me.
The examples are endless, align the words with the result.
Next, your emotional response
This bit I learnt from the "Astonishing Power of Emotions" by Abraham Hicks.
They call it a guidance system, I like that, it resonates with me. A thought typically leads to an emotion. That emotion may be a "happy" or a "sad" one. The emotion is a guide to subtly let me know where I am with the energy I am sending out.
Now they say that if you have a "sad / negative" one, quickly change your thoughts to positive ones. Others say, wait a second, let go of it first, THEN go to the positive thoughts.
Personally, I think a double whammy is better. Be positive, maybe you will have some doubt, maybe this doubt relates to some old insecurity, ok cool now I can release that too, then feel good about that AND still feel good about what I was feeling good about in the first place!
Anyhoo, use your emotions, or your gut, if your thoughts bring up sadness, anger, fear, hate, doubt etc, dont panic, spend a short while there, aknowledge it and then release it on your own terms, then relax, and go back to your intent.
A word on thoughts.
One of the Abraham Hicks books mentioned that holding a pure thought for as little as 60 seconds is enough to spur the universe into action. Have you ever tried to think of one single thing for 60 seconds? Look at your left hand. Look at it and think only of it for 60 seconds. Where does your mind go to? What did you end up thinking about? Whats the take home message here, for me there are a few.
Firstly, why is it so important to Buddhists to meditate? Christians to Pray, Jews to visit the Western Wall? To focus all their energy and thoughts on God, or on whatever they are meditating the mind. To "CONTROL" the mind, slow it down. Its your mind after all, isnt it? You own it, you get to control it. You get to choose your thoughts, you get to focus them where you want them. Not the other way round.
Remember what I said about I AM sad vs I FEEL sad? Now, relate that to thoughts and your mind. In "What the bleep" I think I remember them saying that we actually develop new neural pathways when we change our thoughts. How powerful is that. New neural pathways = new subconcious = new conciousness = new thoughts = EVERYTHING YOU WANT
Whats the one thing on the planet that we have absolute control over? our thoughts. Whats the one thing that we let control us? Our thoughts. A bit like the tail wagging the dog dont you think?
So take a little time to meditate, you dont need to sit in the lotus position and hum curious sounds. Just take some time to practice guiding your thoughts, reminding them who actually is directing this movie. The LOA isnt instant, the results can be, remember its a process that takes practice, motivation, a willingness to do it, to have a call to action and to act.
Now, does this sound like hard work? Is thinking hard work? So if it still sounds like hard work, what feeling does that give you? Experience it a little, let it go, then think again, is it still hard work?
Does it sound too easy? Impossible maybe? Let those emotions come to the surface, let them go and then ask the question again.
Oh ya, back to the Gurus selling their wonder miracle method for harnessing the LOA and instant this and immediate that. As I mentioned earlier I trolled the internet and found it by the truck load. Some very valuable, some tasters, like, I will tell you half, for the rest, buy my new book! My dvd's, and get all the special offers! Ok fair enough, we all deserve something for our experiences, our time, effort, blood sweat and tears. BUT, shouldnt the law of attraction be FREEWARE? If I really believed in it, then I could tell everyone, tell them everything, because with that much positive energy going out, SURELY I would get some back??

Anyway, I digress
Something else I think is pretty important. Are you ready for what you are asking for? I mean, really ready?
Do you want to win the lottery because you just want to be rich, or because you are desperate. Asking out of desperation is not ideal I dont think, cause all you are really thinking bout is desperation. Gotta let that one go.
Are you asking for your ideal partner in love, but still emotionally invested in your ex? Where is your attention, the ideal partner or the ex? Whats the universe going to respond to?
Then, lets say you won the lottery, what would you do with the money? Be honest, do you have a plan? 200 foot yacht, rock star friends, parties, drugs, living the dream? How productive is that? Or it is about creating more wealth, using it wisely, investing, being stable, as well as the yacht, the house, the Aston Martin. See the difference?
Action
What is your call to action?
On "What the bleep" one person says it is possible to manifest a loaf of bread on the table in front of him. Unlikely, but possible.
So, waiting at home for the dream job and your super hot new girlfriend could work, unlikely but possible. Possible but unlikely.
Write a call to action. Think it, feel it and do it. Accept the invitation when your friends invite you out. Send your resume out. Start gym, or running. Go to a movie, whatever it is, develop your own call to action, your mission statement, your vision board.
Your Sphere of input
What are you surrounding yourself with? Only one example should be enough. I was fanatical about watching the news. it was on tv all day, I wanted to see how corrupt polititions were, how bad the country was, the latest scandal. When I had a meal it was with a newspaper, what were the latest horrible headlines.
TV, on all night. DVD's, escapism. All my input was negative, I surrounded myself with it. Four words, GARBAGE IN = GARBAGE OUT Surely you get the message
Ok, so the nuts and bolts of it, what am I doing:
1. Stop Watching the news - easy peasy
2. Dump the newspapers - also easy
3. Read magazines - Mens Health, Sports, Outdoor Mags
4. More music, less TV
5. Vision Board - I spent a week making mine, refining, tuning it, colours, shapes and pictures, (I even researched which colours elicit which emotion). Make sure what you are asking for, you will get it, what did someone say - you will get what you want, make sure you want what you are going to get
6. Release negative, sad, angry, fearful emotions
7. Put my intent to the universe - be clear about it
8. Make Sure I am ready, or find a way to get ready. release my ex. I wrote mine a lovely, honest good bye letter written with love, then I burnt it. Watched the paper burn untill all the glowing embers were gone, took a deep breath and released her.
9. Call to action
10. Look in the mirror
11. Careful with the thoughts and the wording
12. Know my barriers, dont let them own me, know them and release them
13. Control my mind
14. I define my feelings, they dont define me
15. Sharing is caring - spread the word and the positive energy
16. Use my emotional guidance system
17. Read, learn, be hungry for information
18. Enjoy the ride

wow!! truth is a bit bitter so this is very powerful like omg! awsome so i want to ask if we want to attract something what u saying is look for the good side of it what's in it for you, look for the bad side of it and let it go?? and be happy and forget bout it? i read alot around as well until i came to this web site gave me so much hope and belief everyhting is possible so are you saying not everyhting is possible? or does it depend on what kind of thing you want? i have so much and this having hope is what keeping me alive right now and happy also im doing everyhtig i possibly can please explain a bit more thank you. ;)
