Selling my house

Hi there,
My home has been on the market for over a year.  I knew I had conflicted feelings because of my 18 year old dog and knowing he was not up to a cross country move.  A few weeks ago his condition became worse and I had to have him put to sleep.
The agent from the city I want to buy in suggested I use visualization.  Having been raised in Christian Science, this was not an alien concept.  I did a search and came across the book, The Secret.  I was so excited by what I found, I immediately ordered copies for my daughters.  After only two days, my agent here called and said another agent wanted to see the house and if it was as the pictures indicated, he thought his client would buy it without ever coming through the house (military transfer)   The agent came through and last night made an offer, $10,000.00 less then the asking price.  We countered by a reduction of $4,000.00 and we just got a call that the buyer has decided to go with new construction.   I am now doing my best to keep my vision that the house has sold and I am on my way.  I really do want this as my twin sister and I decided to sell our homes and move closer to our kids.  Her house has already sold and we helped settle her in.  I guess my question is:   Does coming this close after a year mean this is working?  If so, how do I get rid of the twinge of disappointment that the buyer backed out on me?
