Hi all!
I just wanted to give an update. First off, I just want to thank everyone for the kind words. I was very apprehensive during my mom's surgery, but would think back to all the positive thoughts everyone was sending to help stay strong....and it worked! My mom's surgery went well. No complications and seriously had the best health care staff taking care of her...from doctors to nurses to aides. She had a great recovery. No post-op infection. She was just weak for a little while.

I was very sad to leave home. We live in different states. She starts chemo next week for 6 mos. I am trying to stay positive but at times just feel so helpless. I just want her to stay healthy during her chemo and just hope this cancer stays away and never comes back! It is true how they say to appreciate the small things in life. You don't know how precious each moment is until it can potentially be taken away from you. Please I ask for positive thoughts and prayers so that she and I and the rest of the family can make it through this. Thank you.

I know what your going through. After my mums surgery (to remove a brain tumor) she had radio therapy. Naturally she was scared of the therapy and the side effects but we all made the effort to feel gratitude for it and would constantly fill her head with 'thank god for radio therapy, its going to help you, its so fortunate they have this technology to help you get better' etc

Its been tough these past years, shes been in and out of hospital with numerous problems and it took its toll so I told her I was going to get a mantra from a Buddhist monk (she knows I visit a monastery from time to time and has seen positive differences in me since)
I grabbed a random bit of wood on the ground and wrote her health mantra ('I am healthy' x5) and then gave it to her telling her the monk said if she ever feels discomfort, to squeeze the wood and repeat the mantra.

So far so good...

does your mum know about loa? if not, maybe its her time to find and apply it? and make a brand new start with a healthy life!

JoyFelicity, I think it is good that your mother can watch the movie The Secret. In the health section in there, there is one who had breast cancer who was healed because she asked, she believed and she did receive. When we truly believed, God will never see any reason not to grant the desire of our heart. Diseases are there to remind us to appreciate more of our health, to love ourselves more, that is, by giving only the best through the foods we take, and by feeding only positive and loving thoughts, feelings, beliefs and emotions

This forum has been so helpful. Haven't had a chance to read in a few days, but all the positive thoughts and energy helped. My mom had her first day of chemo today. When I talked to her early this evening she sounded like she was in good spirits. The treatment went well and she has not had any side effects like nausea or vomiting.

Tulip, that is so helpful to think of this situation as something to be grateful for. It is true, had it not been for advancements in medical technology and treatment, our family members may not be here today. This is something I will need to be reminded of when I am feeling low. The piece of wood with the mantra is very interesting. I'm glad that has helped your mom!  I will have to try something like that.

Crazysoul, I have tried to 'teach' my mom the basics of LOA. So far she understands some things. And maybe it is helping bc she isn't negative about her disease anymore. When she was first diagnosed, she felt like she was dealt a death sentence. But now she is determined to beat this and has been blessed to have such amazing health care staff. I would say the only bump in the road right now is her older sister. She says things like, 'why do you want chemo? you are going to lose all your hair? Are you sure you don't want a second opinion?' I tell my mom to not let her words discourage or anger her.

57Angel, the Secret would be helpful to give to my mom. You are absolutely right about how diseases are there to remind us to be more appreciative. I had thought this, but when my mind and soul are stressed it's easy to forget this. Thank you for the reminder. My mom's diagnosis has changed the way we live...for the better!

Again, thanks everyone for your advice and well wishes. This truly means so much to me and has helped me. I hope i am not sounding too whiney. Sometimes I feel like I should be able to handle things on my own. I have been a 'lurker' on and off for a few years but never thought that I would seek out advice. I'm so glad I finally did, though! Thank you, thank you!

  i am sorry to hear that sad news but i know your mom will be healed. You know we are in the same boat last year when one of my family member was diagnosed with cancer. i was very upset that time and i dont know what to do. I always pray to God but the negative vibrations just dont go away. Good thing i found this website about the law of attraction. i can say that it helped me a lot in dealing with the problems that i was going through. by following the steps to generate positive vibes and constantly praying, my sister is now a survivor.
