LOA - Starvation - Poverty Question
« on: January 11, 2012, 03:03:30 AM »

Hi to everyone...just watched The Secret, read Bob Proctor, listening to Jim Rohn and with my wife really trying to change our thought processes from neg to positive.

Really truly intrigued by the princples of LOA.

Have read many negative comments on the web regarding LOA stating why those in poverty and starvation in countries such as Cambodia, Ethiopia, etc cannot affect their circumstances no matter how positive their thoughts. Can anyone clear this one up for me?

Regardless of the answers that come our way LOA makes us feel quite good about stuff and looking forward to learning more.

Looking forward to any responses and comments

My theory for this is, LOA is all mindset. I don't think people in third world countries are going to have a positive mindset. They might want something better, but a lot of the time this is all they've ever know, they have no reason to think why it might get better, I imagine a lot of them just feel hopeless.
I don't think it's impossible for them to change their situation with their thoughts, I just think it's rare to have the positive, grateful mindset required to do so.

Thank you Blore for replying so quickly.

My problem with it is that there may be varying degrees of LOA dependant on circumstances. Do you think LOA can be based on expectation for example, deaf people dream of people using sign language? LOA may well exist but the expectationsof success, wealth, abundance may well be different to that of a western culture.

I think I am confusing myself now and hope I have not confused you!!!

Ijgosling:

I LOVE THAT YOU ASKED THIS! NO ONE REALLY HAS. Not on here, well not that I have noticed anyway.

So I asked myself about this when I first learned about LOA. When I started getting more into it and learning about I didnt find a satisfactory answer ANYWHERE!

If Im going to believe something it has to be very logical very balck and white for me. I cant just believe "parts" of something. Idk its just the way I am.

The ONLY time I heard an answer to this and heard an explanation to this was through Abraham Hicks. She even has a video talking about and explaining serial killers and hitler, and people who are "mentally challenged".

So Ive noticed different people believe in different thing regarding LOA. For example, some have different ideas of how long to visualize, what you have to do it manifest something, what is letting go, ect. Abraham Hicks offers ONE explanation that fits all these questions, thats why I like her so much. Like I said I need more logic and intellectual sense to really start believing in something.

It pretty much has to do with alot of those people offering their vibrations due to their reality. And the influence of those around them. Like say you dont know about creating your reality, you just know that you are hungry, your family is hungry and food is hard to come by in your surroundings. you hear people around you talking about this reinstating it in your mind everyday. What kind of thoughts do you think you will be thinking? I am rich, I have food, I have abundance, or I am poor, I am hungry, I am sick, I feel bad? Thought is vibration, and everything is vibrational. No one ever said to themselves "I want cancer". But vibrationally they are a match.

These subjects can be very sensitive and touchy, I paraphrased what A.hicks has to say about it. Her answer satisfied me and also fit with this whole philosophy/concept. I hope this brought a different perspective for you. If you want me to post any of the vids where she discusses these things just let me know.

Yeah I mean in my opinion its because they are led to believe that that's how life is and there's no way out of it. I mean even in our own country, in urban cities where there is a lot of crime
and poverty, people are conditioned at an early age to think and act a certain way. However, there are a few people that manage to succeed even tho they came from those areas. They put their mind to it and don't let their negative environment keep them from accomplishing their goals and improving their lives. Obviously in 3rd world countries its even worse, but I mean those people have a lot less opportunities to succeed and thrive than we do here.

I dont think you have to know about LOA to become successful and come from poverty. Tons of people "come from" nothing and become successful and millionaires and famous and if not that then, end up in a place other than poverty. Some of those people say it was God, and some say it was luck. But they all have one thing in common. They all offered their vibration aka thoughts and their emotional response to what they wanted. Not to their physical reality.

However the fact that there is any ONE person or child going hungry tonight bothers the s*** out of me. Learning about all this, really brought up beliefs Ive had about injustice and my anger against it. Anger Ive had for a long time. But I am in a place where I have it all in perspective. And I do kind things for people and strangers and stray animals and my loved ones. And just doing that I am making a difference and they say what you resist will always persist. So now instead of being anti hunger, I am pro people having food. Instead of focusing on those who lack I am focusing on being in a position where I am able to give, and actually do it.

Hi, we all use the LOA in our daily lifes consciously or unconsciously and it is up to us to control our thoughts and when we control our thoughts we create our desired realities. In those other countries the atmosphere of poverty consciousness.  The school systems are not that great so people cant get the right education to build the country up to wealth and prosperity.

No one has complete control of their thoughts. If you try to control eveyr single thought youll end up going crazy. Its about guiding thoughts not controlling them.

I must admit from my own persepctive that positive vibrations are having an effect on me, not in the prosperity sense, but practicing attraction every minute of every day, but more to do with how much more relaxed I feel. I am typically quite a tense person and can get irrate over the silliest of things, but I am concentrating quite a bit on LOA and feel quite peaceful.

This feels like it could be a permanent thing for me.

Thank you for all of the responses so far and will see you on other posts down the line.

Controlling your thoughts is a very important LOA practice that you can use in your daily life, and those who possess it will meet with the most happiness and attain the greatest success in life.

@ijgosling...simply they are poverty stricken and i bet being negative out weighs the positive many times over, n again just being positive is not the only way to change or prosperity.... from a loa teaching it is your vibration the energy along with love, gratitude etc....for me knowing about loa is a spiritual awaking it gives me bliss, joy it have me wanting to gain more knowledge daily and the more i learn the sweeter it becomes the feeling is unexplainable and that is where i want to stay n what it does for me it makes my life wonderful....world hunger and crime and all of those things bothers me! we are a learned nation and our mind set was crafted for us by our parents, teachers, society our general surroundings etc it defines us or we let it ...now if we are not able to break away from that mentality as a people as a country or nation (sigh).... how much of us as a people seeks truth be it first world or third world?....the difference we as a community makes is based upon our knowledge and that is what is important the law is real and it works but is it for everyone to understands i need help on this...i remember watching the secret for the first time with a friend and i was mesmerize and this friend was saying this is so boring i am sure a lot of individuals are out there with the same mindset  :o...now there i am gaining knowledge that will take me on a new journey of self reliance, awareness, better take on life and the whole concept of how i view this world and yet still it did not resonate to my friend...making a difference is what i am doing....as lashark said and i quote (But I am in a place where I have it all in perspective. And I do kind things for people and strangers and stray animals and my loved ones. And just doing that I am making a difference and they say what you resist will always persist. So now instead of being anti hunger, I am pro people having food. Instead of focusing on those who lack I am focusing on being in a position where I am able to give, and actually do it.) if only we could change the world!

hi! i like your post, it is interesting.. 8)

i read somewhere, that if your attitude is right facts dont count, i believe there is  enought stories confirming this reality...

and i wondered why some people where somewhat more privileged than the others to be in a better place to have more positive thoughts, and i think i found it,

i read it somewhere, that new born babies (souls) attract their parents and circumstances by the vibration of their soul...

It started to affect me. So I moved away for awhile. And honestly, I got so into work and her. I still lurked some, not often. But I think I should have b/c supporting others in a great way to grow in using LoA positively in your life!
