How to feel grateful and happy?

Ever since I was young, my entire family had been saying that I have no emotions, and at some point, I began actually trying to get rid of emotions. Now, I'm usually a blank slate, unless somehting really big happens, and the emotion is usually negative like anger or sadness. I can laugh without actually being happy, and I don't believe love exists. See my problem? So this is basically my question--what does it mean to be happy, as well as feel happy and grateful?

Do things that YOU like to do...it could be anything ....eating ur fav food \listening tour type of music \ watching muvie \shopping \hangin out wid frnds ...do this over n over.
Be grateful for ur house ,family,bed ,water,food,friends,job,money ,air,oxygen...everything :).Life is precious, start enjoying and appreciating lil things.You would feel good and  happy.

TRY TO USE HOPONO ONO; IT REALLY HEAL YOU!

i have tried it, and the healing is awesome and unbelievable somehow.

just repeat to yourself as much as you can during your day, but sincerce...

i am sorry, please forgive me, i love you and i thank you

try it, it will heal you and get you in the postive flow, which you really need right now.
and, as said already.... before loa, i thought, there was nothing to be thankful about, but that changed slowly that i changed my attitude in being grateful. start with your coffee at the morning, be happy for having something to eat etc.... as soon as you do that, you will attract many more things in your life for which you can be really grateful for.....  ;) ;)

Thanks everyone! I've actually read the hooponopono thing, and I kind of felt stupid, but I guess I'll give it another go. Just being happy helps manifest? I'm trying with the blue feather as an experiment, something to help me believe, but so far it hasn't worked. Sometimes I feel like I'm Okonkwo from Things Fall Apart...
