I want to have certain things manifest in my life, things that I have been thinking about for several weeks now. But I look around, and everything still looks the same as when I started. It doesn't seem like anything is either changing or is in the process of changing. Seeing everything remain the same only serves to discourage me from continuing with the manifestation process.

How do you go about injecting feeling into your manifestations, if when you look around, everything still looks the same? How does one possibly go about feeling like what one wants to manifest has already arrived?

I'm not trying to be negative, I just can't help noticing what's around me. Nothing seems to be changing.

The feeling should come naturally since you're already desiring the manifestation. But here's a great excerpt from the book Conversations With God by Neale Donald Walsch that explains perfectly:

Does that mean I cannot ask for anything I want? Are You saying that praying for something
actually pushes it away from us?

This is a question which has been asked through the Ages—and has been answered whenever it has been asked. Yet you have not heard the answer, or will not believe it. The question is answered again, in today’s terms, and today’s language, thusly: You will not have that for which you ask, nor can you have anything you want. This is because your very request is a statement of lack, and your saying you want a thing only works to produce that precise experience—wanting—in your reality.
The correct prayer is therefore never a prayer of supplication, but a prayer of gratitude. When you thank God in advance for that which you choose to experience in your reality, you, in effect, acknowledge that it is there... in effect. Thankfulness is thus the most powerful statement to God; an affirmation that even before you ask, I have answered. Therefore never supplicate. Appreciate.

But what if I am grateful to God in advance for something, and it never shows up? That could
lead to disillusionment and bitterness.

Gratitude cannot be used as a tool with which to manipulate God; a device with which to fool the universe. You cannot lie to yourself. Your mind knows the truth of your thoughts. If you are saying “Thank you, God, for such and such,” all the while being very clear that it isn’t there in your present reality, you can’t expect God to be less clear than you, and so produce
it for you. God knows what you know, and what you know is what appears as your reality.

But how then can I be truly grateful for something I know is not there?

Faith. If you have but the faith of a mustard seed, you shall move mountains. You come to know it is there because I said it is there; because I said that, even before you ask, I shall have answered; because I said, and have said to you in every conceivable way, through every teacher you can name, that whatsoever you shall choose, choosing it in My Name, so
shall it be.

Yet so many people say that their prayers have gone unanswered.

No prayer—and a prayer is nothing more than a fervent statement of what is so—goes unanswered. Every prayer—every thought, every statement, every feeling—is creative. To the degree that it is fervently held as truth, to that degree will it be made manifest in your experience. When it is said that a prayer has not been answered, what has in actuality happened is that the most fervently held thought, word, or feeling has become operative. Yet what you must know—and here is the
secret—is that always it is the thought behind the thought—what might be called the Sponsoring Thought—that is the controlling thought. If, therefore, you beg and supplicate, there seems a much smaller chance that you will experience what you think you are choosing, because the Sponsoring Thought behind every supplication is that you do not have now what you wish. That Sponsoring Thought becomes your reality. The only Sponsoring Thought which could override this thought is the thought held in faith that God will grant whatever is asked, without fail. Some people have such faith, but very few.
The process of prayer becomes much easier when, rather than having to believe that God will always say “yes” to every request, one understands intuitively that the request itself is not necessary. Then the prayer is a prayer of thanksgiving. It is not a request at all, but a statement of gratitude for what is so.

I read this on FB today which fits as well:

So basically believing is seeing. Things ARE changing. You may not see it now, but in due time - you will.

OMG Queen Of Light!!!

You have no idea how wonderful this excerpt made me feel... I have been meaning to read the book and u pulled out the Gem in it... Its like the best thing that I have read... Even though I have read this concept at so many places, this was like THE revelation to me... I cried, I laughed... Yes, this is it!!!

THANK YOU... THANK YOU... THANK YOU!!! I feel like ALL my desires are ALREADY MINE NOW!!!  :D :D :D

Rande - Have unwavering FAITH... Act as if your desire is ALREADY yours... Keep your vibrations HIGH - which basically means BE HAPPY!!!

Start with focusing on things that make you unconditionally happy, maybe a child who you are close to... Identify that feeling and try to stay in that feeling always... Bring that feeling when you think of your desires

How to act - For e.g. of it is a house you want to manifest you may want to look for movers and be in a packing mood... And start planning what things to put where... I hope you get the idea

Your manifestations ARE on your way  :D :D :D

LOVE & GOD BLESS,
NS

Kitten - forgive me, but I just have to ask this out of curiosity: how can you believe that it is possible for Jesus to lie? It seems a contradiction to me, it makes no sense. Don't misunderstand me - I'm not actually a religious person (my belief system is most closely aligned with Buddhism, which does share some features with christianity, but is not a religion in the same way). But... If you believe that Jesus is the son of God, sent to man to cleanse his sins, that he is the way, the light and all of that - how could you at the same time believe that it would be possible for him to lie? It makes no sense to me.

Hope you don't take that the wrong way - I'm not having a go at you, I'm just puzzled by the apparent contradiction.

Ginny,

I'm VERY new to learning of the bible... and I have MANY questions that don't seem to be answered in the bible.. or situations that I have questions of, but pastors/Christians always say 'you're taking it out of context' - Ok, well does that mean we go with how WE interpret the bible, or how pastors interpret the bible? &  friends of mine who have been Christian's for years will tell you that yes, prayers do go unanswered.. OK, well I don't understand that... in John 14:14 (nlt) Jesus says "Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!" .... Ok, well if we ask, He is supposed to do- correct? Then how are prayers going unanswered? This is one of those verses (and there are plenty more like this one) that pastors say 'you have taken it out of context, you can't ask for anything' - OK, well that is confusing because JESUS himself did not put any stipulations on His words.

I'm not badmouthing Jesus at all.. This is just the point in my walk that I am right now.. trying to figure things out..

Ah, I understand. Yes, I think there's plenty of opportunity for people's interpretations to be off the mark. Even people who've studied theology for years (eg ministers) don't always agree with one another as to how things should e interpreted.

  • Staying focused on what you want with faith
    • View Profile
Thing is, you need to really get solid in connecting with what you want.  You need to spend a lot of time really affirming and imagining what you desire.  It's more effort than most people understand.

Also, you need to get good at breaking away from what your senses, in the now, are telling you.  However, until you make it a real SUBCONSCIOUS mind pattern, it's very hard to break away from your current reality.  This is one of the missing steps in most LOA approaches.  You need to get super solid with generating faith with real daily effort.  When you imagine, you need to bring your senses alive in a strong way and this also takes some real power of Will.
Lastly, after you generate faith, you need to be finding ways to take solid action towards the things you desire.

You see?  On one end, it is not that complex, but on the other end, it's not as easy as many books make it out to be.

  • LifeIsGoodToday: That wasn't the reason for my break though, there was a particular troll, HQ, that come coming back and just really giving the whole forum grief and negativity. It started to affect me. So I moved away for awhile. And honestly, I got so into work and her. I still lurked some, not often. But I think I should have b/c supporting others in a great way to grow in using LoA positively in your life!

  • Calm: Life - sometimes it's good to take a break.  Spending too much time here in a certain state of mind, can make one dwell too much on what one doesn't have, to my mind.  Breaks are good!
