Following the signs / signals

(no, I don't know the poster personally or work for her marketing department! - just something about the concept really clicked with me, and i found it intriguing)

So, I gather her basic premise is that the universe is giving you lots of signals, every day. As I said, this appealed to me - a) as it sounds fun and b) I've got a big irrational superstitious streak ... And I guess c) I've had some very spooky coincidences at times in my life, and it would be nice to think they meant something.

But the weird thing is - given that I'm the sort f person who sees "signs" and reads significances into things all the time - ever since I've started deliberately looking for signs, I haven't been able to find any.

So I thought it might be fun for people to post their most significant "sign" or "signal" of the day here.

Mine, as I said, have been a bit sparse (aka non-existent). The only thing I've been able to construe as a sign at all was a horoscope (which, I'm not into horoscopes at all) on the default news feed of my email, which said something about being alone this weekend, and I should seek out friends. Well, yeah, my husband is away this weekend, and I did get together with friends - but we do that every weekend so it's not exactly earth-shattering as signs go.

Anyone else have more interesting signs?

One of my favorite signs was reading a book that said angels like to leave white feathers for you to find to let you know they are there and love you.
I so wanted to get a white feather and asked the universe and angels to leave one for me.
Didnt see any for ages until one day i saw one and then the next another and so on.
I see them all the time even had one blow through the window and land on my lap once.
I am also seeing a guys name i want to attract back everywhere so hopefully that will happen

Yeah its so strange as even today i saw a small white feather, I do remember when i 1st asked and didnt see any, i let it go and though oh well and a few mths later it started.
Always for me the hardest part of loa is letting go and the feathers show me how much i need to xx

I think my most significant was  sending an invoice to an out of town client and the address was #1102(my guys birthday  the street name was E(initial of his first name ) ******* street(* Indicates his last name) LOl.. then after that i was  thinking as driving  about all the things i have done.. gratitude, tapping, affirmations, binauraul beats MBO's and i asked .. out loud what next?.. and a car came past me that said "receive" on the liscence plate.. thought tht was a pretty clear sign

I recieved an interesting sign this morning... I was at work and I took my phone out of my pocket to put on my desk. And it started playing a song (I didn't open the music player, it just started on it's own) and the song it was playing was the song I had hummed out loud to myself many months ago when I had just met this guy that I really like (but have recently given up on)...

So this random song starts playing, funilly enough it is called "Say Yes" by Elliot Smith. Anyway, I thought it was really strange and it made me think of him and less than two hours later he texted me to ask how my gig had gone on the weekend.

Strange. I have had many many signs about him, like my phone just calling him by itself!! or getting a full set of tiles on "words with friends" that spell out him name- how freaky. but nothing has happened for so long between us, so I don't know what it's all about yet

Do any of you ever get conflicting signals? Like one thing tells you stop and the other go?

I do think signs are everywhere, sometimes I see them and sometimes I don't. It also depends on how much you attach to them. For example, this morning I read an update from abuckeyeleaf saying she got back with her guy. When I read her original story, that was itself a sign for me because so many things about it reminded me of my own love story, the best parts. Today, her update serves as the Universe's way of telling me, you're on the right track!

I randomly glanced at my phone and it said 11.00 I thought that was a good sign as I've heard 11 is a good number and that it's when the Universe takes a snapshot of your thoughts to manifest at lightning fast speeds, I also heard it has something to do with twin flames. My boyfriend's first name also starts with the 11th letter of the alphabet. So anyway, I decided to make the most of it and visualise my dream life with him. Started doing that, the house we'd live in down to the smallest detail. How we'd look at each other, sit by the window together and read, cook together. When I finished and opened my eyes, my phone read 11.11 I wasn't even paying attention to how much time was going by or anything. I jumped for joy and thanked the Universe. Stuffed my laptop into my bag and turned to pick up my spectacles, the clock on my desk is a few minutes behind the time on my phone and it read 11.11 again

one of my favorite signs that really grounded me was when I moved two months ago.  I was having a really hard time, crying all day (not only b/c I moved but for other reasons too), etc.  I went to my car and noticed this white car in front of me with a license plate that read TrustMe.  I felt like it was yelling at me to trust it and that everything would be okay.  My roommate said that car lives in our complex and that I would see it again but I never did and have since moved again.

I have a weird one (not to detract from everyone else's positive ones, but still, would be interested in other people's take)

So, I determined that I would "follow the signs", rather than blundering on and doing the stupid things I always do to mess a situation up

So, say in a given situation, I would always do A. My gut tells me it's the wrong thing to do, but somehow I can't stop myself - the urge to meddle, tinker, double-check, etc is excruciatingly irresistible. And I always seem to get signals NOT to do it, but I usually ignore them . So this time I told myself, I WILL listen to the signals and won't try to force the situation. I was expecting that the signs would tell me NOT to do A, which is usually the case.

But the weird thing is - I got a couple of signs that seemed to be telling me to do A. I was like, "what???". So, I considered doing A again (in the spirit of "following the signals"), but my repeated experience that A just messes things up and makes me feel worse was finally having an impact. So my gut was telling me, NOOOOO! And, while I was pondering whether or not I needed to have trust and "follow the signal", or whether I was just totally misreading the signals or maybe it was an unfortunate coincidence - after a couple of hours of doing nothing, the problem semi-resolved.

So, does this mean:
1. It's a sign to listen to my gut and stop looking for "signs"
2. The signal-generating mechanism of the universe gave me a chance to demonstrate my faith, and I blew it by following my gut instinct
3. I am a total superstitious nutcase and I need to get a grip

Hey thanks Marianna! Yeah, it was pretty cool and in fact we texted back and forth through the day and are going to catch up on Tuesday so that's awesome. Though as I said I don't know what it's all about yet, but I'm happy to find out.

You know I find this subject so interesting, because I have always been interested in synchronistic and other 'freaky' occurrences and have always paid attention to them. I am currently reading the book about signs that this thread has spun off of. And I am really trying to take notice and follow the signs at the moment and see what happens.

As for your question Ginny, it's a curly one. So hard to know what the meaning here is. On one hand it's always good to follow your gut, but in this case having conflicting signs hmmm, maybe ask for more clarification. But I tend to think- when in doubt, follow your instincts.
