hi! I've been using LOA for almost 4 months and i've learned so many things thanks to this forum. I know that positive thoughts can bring wonderful things in your life, but i have an annoying predisposition to negative thinking! It always takes much effort to me to stay positive all the time and i always tend to do negative thought, as if my mind is constantly attracted to negativity. It is difficult to explain... i know what i should do, i've also given some advice to other members here, but i'm not able to use those advices for myself! And even if i get a small success, soon after i become pessimistic again! How can i reverse this situation?

Hi Orion, it is ok to acknowledge what you are feeling or thinking.. I would suggest you to think of a big success and don't hesitate, nothing is big/small for this Universe.  Make a mind movie of that and replay it as many times a day as you can. It will make you feel good and once  you feel good, negative vibrations do not appear. For immediate effect, think of your pet, cute little pup or kitten... it will definitely make you feel better at that time and get you out of negative emotions.

In order to get rid of negative thoughts, you can't just try and erase them or make them disappear. Every thought is there for a reason, and if you don't listen to what it is trying to tell you and you just try and shove it off, it will only come back again.
So, when you get a negative thought (such as doubt, hate or whatever) stop, allow the thought to appear in your mind in its full form, listen to what it is saying and then try and understand WHY it's saying it. For example, if the negative thought it doubt, it might be appearing because your wish seems somewhat difficult or unbelievable. After you've figured out what the negative thought is trying to say, counter it by saying something on the lines of: "My wish is not at all difficult or unbelievable. Thousands of people in the word have what I wish for! There is nothing about it that's impossible, so I'm afraid that I disagree with you. But thank you for the warning."


This was just an example, but you see what I mean. The reason why I'm suggesting this method instead of just trying to ignore the negative thought, is because that negative thought is also a part of you. No one else, it is a part of YOU. So, you and YOU have to figure out a way to listen to each other and build a caring and trusting relationship. If YOU don't understand you, no one else can do it for you. :)

I used to think about negative thoughts all the time, hoping  that I would think it to death, and the thought would not bother me anymore. This did not work at all.  My vibration was low 24/7.  Now when I leap out of bed in the morning, everytime the negative thought enters my mind, I block it out.  I see myself clicking a delete button on my computer.  I replace it with good thoughts. Then at night for about 5-30 minutes, I spend that time releasing the negative thoughts, because if it builds, then you eventually explode. I always try to find the positive in my negative thoughts, so I do not feel so bad when releasing the negativity.

Or as Esther/Abraham says, "tell another story". "Ignore reality!".

I have found myself shacking my head really fast when I realice im having bad or distracting thoughts. And that actually works for me.

thank you all for your tips! Anyway my negative thoughts are not about relationships but rather about my future. I'm a student and i'm studying what i've always dreamed of, but now i don't like it anymore... i always passed all the exams but right now i learned that i've failed an exam for the fourth time, and i'm having huge difficulties with the other exams too. I have no more enthusiasm and the main reason is that in my country the university system is shoddy and there is a lot of incompetent professors that don't care at all about the students, so i feel very frustrated. In general my life is going in the opposite direction than i wanted... so i don't know what to do... i'd like to reset my whole life but, you know, that's not easy to do and moreover i'm afraid to disappoint my family...

@Orion: The education system in your country sounds exactly like the education system in my own country... >.> I was also disappointed in my choice of studies when I was in my 2nd year of University. I felt that i should be doing something else, something that would make me feel more alive and useful. But, because I also couldn't disappoint my parents, I decided to toughen up and finish what I started. I have to tell you, I'm glad that I did it because, even though I didn't realize it then, I now see that I really did make the good choice and I am able to enjoy a wonderful life with my profession. ^.^ So don't worry, it's all there for a reason!
