There are plenty of websites explaining wonderful ways of applying EFT effectively.
If I may, eftuniverse.com provides plenty info but their forum is not as active as others may be.
In short, the focus should be on what is being verbalized during tapping. That which is verbalized is usually the issue that needs to be resolved.
A headache, for example;
Set up phrase (repeat whole phrase 3x while tapping the "karate chop spot"): "Even though I have this headache, I deeply and completely accept myself"
Reminder phrase (usualy short reminder of "Set up phrase"): "This headache"
This reminder phrase is being verbalized at each tapping point.
They used to tap on 12 to 13 points, but these are often reduced to only 9 (including top of the head). The "9 Gamut Procedure" has also been left out all together.
Either one or two rounds of the reminder phrase is done before observing the results.
